As much as he didn't want to talk about it he felt compelled to answer her honestly, as if saying nothing would be a lie. So he spoke when he shouldn't have. Trying to make the truth as least painful as possible.

[b]"yes"[/b] he replied solemnly. [b]"I took a vow to love her unconditionally. They were not empty words, words that were not reliant or dependant upon her name written on my wrist. Unfortunately she did not feel the same way."[/b] 

There was a dull empty silence after his words, it hung awkwardly in the air. Finally it broke as he asked.
[b]"the day you woke?"[/b] 
His interest seemingly more in killing the silence then her possible answer.
