Makoto grew up with his older brother, who got him into Brain Burst very early. At 13 he was invited by his brother and started playing him, the only way he could actually play with him since he was bedridden with terminal illness. Makoto could never remember what it was called, some 1 in a million disease. His brother became the yellow king and Makoto strived to become like him, getting stronger and stronger until eventually his brother died.

Makoto didn't like that.

He spiralled into an obsession with the became until he became the Yellow King himself. When he heard about level 10 he wasn't that interested, after all this game was his life, but if the other Kings were going to try and defeat him, Makoto had to prove he was the strongest of them.

Makoto is a very calm, strategic individual, planning his moves before performing them. He has very little passion for anything but Brain Burst and puzzles, from sudoku to mazes. He has been known to stay calm even in life or death battles, slowly evaluating the best move to make. With very little in terms of 'fighting spirit' on the outside, he never surrenders and needs to prove to himself that he can surpass his brother.
