There was no such thing as having the luxury of sleep anymore, his duties constantly prohibited him from the softness of a pillow much to Lucius's dismay. The war seemed to be at a standstill, nothing extraordinary was going on thankfully but at the same time it shouldn't that have meant he would get more sleep? Of course not, because someone up top had the notion that this standstill was just a ruse by the enemy to get the upper hand. This meant that there was no time for relaxation and almost all of the day was spent training or scouting areas that had the presence of darkness. So there Lucius was, under the cover of trees in the dawn of morning, working on about four hours of sleep. He was extremely close to the border, to the point where he could peer across into the desolate landscape. He shivered, he hated the dark and the cold, making sure to give thanks for the light that he had grown up in, even if it was bittersweet. Lucius was quite bored at the time, he had literally stayed up all night watching the border in hopes of anything happening. He was very disappointed by the time the sun was just coming up. It was actually about time for him to go back to camp, but something caught his eye. An angel? The winged creature landed not a few feet away from the border but about forty feet away from him. He could make out that it was a female but that was it before the angel put a cloak over itself and stepped through the border in the darkness. He was horrified, why would an angel do that willingly? It did not look like she was forced but perhaps she was bewitched? Lucius shook his head, no that couldn't be right. His uncertainty for action was quickly met with another female crossing the border near the same place the angel went in. Now that was suspicious, but Lucius did not know what to do. On one hand if he did not return to the camp people would come looking for him and on the other if he let that angel fall into enemy hands, well he shuddered at the thought of loosing another one of the beautiful creatures. No! He quickly grabbed his staff and made his way to the edge carefully, always looking around for danger. He was there, so close to the uncertainty that waited in the darkness beyond, his will was great but his fears were always there in the back of his mind. He took a long breath, and stepped over, the coldness was a slight shock to his system but it would pass. Now, he had to find that angel before something bad happened.
