Over the last nine months, more than one-thousand young Survaekom have proudly joined the ranks of the Air Divisions! These valorous souls, known as "bird-men" and "sky-boys," join the one-hundred "Aed's Aces," experienced veterans of the War. With Survaekom military bureaus functioning properly again, the fresh recruits will see their first batch of training planes come next month. Surv-Akur sources estimate that within a year, the entire complement of new recruits may be trained and ready to fly as professionals! Should enough pilots complete their training successfully, the Grand Survaek Empire will for the first time in two years have enough trained hands for its entire air force. If the skies are the battlefields of the future, then we are well on our way to mastering the ways of the age to come!

The skill and dedication of these young men -and a few young women too!- will be tested as they time fickle winds and brave speeds of over 100 kilometers per hour in piloting tests beginning December 24. This will be no easy task, and some will surely perish in the course of training with their flying machines, but the sky-boys are more than ready to take this risk. One of the new pilots, reflecting on the great importance of his choice of service to the Empire, had the following to say. "We young folks won't stand to see Survaek beat again! And if we're going to make sure of that, we might as well do it with the winds at our backs and a good thrill ahead!" Good humor and good spirit, lad! He and his comrades laughed in agreement. To them we say: Aed's blessings upon you! Make your nation proud!
Historic Congress Approaches
After some initial delays, the Imperial Parliament has confirmed Emperor Yvor III Khaitis' plan for a great congress to reconcile many disagreements and dissident tendencies within the Grand Survaek Empire. The Congress, initially scheduled for November 23, will now be held December 28. Many organizations have yet to give a definitive reply to their invitation, but his Imperial Majesty and his court officials remain optimistic.

"Socialists, Autonomists, Republicans, Traditionalists, Particularists...many in this nation desire and act for change," the Sword of Aed commented. "But we have one thing in common: We look to better Survaek and its people. It is my sacred duty under Aed, therefore, to bring us all together at one table. Only this way can we truly resolve the conflicts and problems in need of attention within the Empire. I trust that all who hold the good of the people dear will attend this Congress for good faith discussions to address their many concerns, and thereby work together for the common good. Only those whose desire is to set this nation on fire for their own selfish ends would refuse even to talk. I trust that those whom I have called together are not such people. Together, the Sword of Aed with representatives from all manner of mass organizations across the land, we will make the Grand Survaek Empire stronger and more righteous."

Words for the ages! Praise be to Aed!
