To your second paragraph, I'm not talking about the first laser beam Myron fired, but the current one. I'd say ease, scope, and power are all important. Quality and quantity both matter, as well. The book would've been behind the dome of ice, so I figure Myron would have enough time to toss it aside when he hears a boom.
