ARMY MOBLIZED UNDER TUJOKI[/sub]
In a shocking turn of events, the Yuxiang Clique has launched a brutal and bloody raid on unsuspecting civilians and innocents along the border on the 22nd. The villages, simply minding their own business of their day to day lives, where bested upon by hordes of ragtag bandits and mobs meant to be the "army" of the Yuxiang. Murdering, burning and raping their way along several border villages and towns, eye witnesses report says that the mass of mismatched uniforms left bodies piled high, ravaged women on the streets and houses burning. Following the news, the Imperial Senate had a unanimous vote of a declaration of war against the Yuxiang warlords as a "divine retaliation strike for their atrocities". The Emperor quickly also put his support behind the declaration the decision despite his typically pacifist and peaceful personality, releasing this statement:
"There comes a time where we must put down our scythes for swords, a time where machines do not make toys and beds but gun and shot, a time where we show them our fierce defiance and fight back; even the peaceful Inshingu monk will have to reach for a weapon in the face of a bandit. These attacks will not go unanswered, there will be consequences and there will be vengeance. Their foolish and barbaric acts have harmed my people and no doubt will only escalate if we stand still and idle. We may have just come out of a great war, but we must once again stand against invaders and foes who dare tread illegally onto our sacred land! However great the odds, I have no doubt that the brave soldiers of our Republic shall stand shoulder to shoulder, the odds making each heart bolder! To arms my people! We will show the so-called 'warlord' what happens when you dare attack Fuso! We shall show their armed mob what a true soldier looks like! What real training and discipline can do! What real leadership and bravery can do! We shall bring them reckoning! We shall show them what a true war looks like!"
The recently reinstated General Tujoki Namabashi states that he and the Emperor have amended their cracks for the time being to combat this new wicked foe. He has already gathered a corp over 30,000 men of the finest soldering caliber, modernizing their ways and their uniforms; long gone are the times of silk of ancient warfare. With artillery batteries and wagons of supplies, equipment, machine guns and spare rifles, General Tujoki's "New Model Army" has been blessed by the Emperor, christening them the First Infantry Division, "the Emperor's Finest". General Tujoki, despite being unavailable for further comments later, said that he had already formulated a rough plan. Additionally, he urges any reserves to be prepared to be summoned and any potential soldiers to immediately head to the closest army base or recruitment station. However, unlike prior to the Terrible War, there is a hint of worry amongst people, especially those who remember the fighting during the siege of Meiji. Several officials and spokesmen, from both the military and the government have stated that "this war will be different; we are not fighting a foe whose abilities out stripe our own and we now have the weapons of the west on our side: aircraft and armored cars have already been planned for production." There has also been a call for the best and brightest minds within the Imperial Republic to gather in the hopes of developing new military for our brave troops! All participants are to report to the College of Technology and Engineering at the University of Meiji. Anyone accepted will be reimbursed for travel and participation! Long Live the Emperor! Long Live the Republic! Long Live Fuso!
