Felix Smoke Academy Auditorium – September 10th His heart skipped as Kyle placed his arm around him. He'd kept his feelings hidden for around a decade, he wasn't going to start now. He only hoped Kyle hadn't advanced his mind-reading enough to manoeuvre his mind block. Instead he smiled at his friend as he joked about his sprite of a brother. He gasped in mock offence at Kyle's suggestions about a new rule "...if you don't want him getting lost on his first day."but a pang of concern and guilt rose rose as he thought about his brother having already actually messed up the first part of his first day. "About that..." he began, but his companion's attention had been captured by the red headed student in front of him for the second time already today. Thonovan. He smiled at one of his favourite students impressed that the he'd improved his attitude and worked hard to improve a skill that he had found challenging, rather than his usual response of giving up and openly mocking the task, as he had done with his few psychic studies. Despite Thonovan's dislike of authority, Felix had won him round early in his career and Thonovan's powerful eco-ability was one of his personal achievements, impressing the older faculty staff. Kyle on the other hand disapproved of the boy entirely, the hot headed student being one of few points of contention between the two school friends. While Felix agreed with the school's zero tolerance approach to unacceptable behaviour, he sometimes found Kyle needlessly harsh on the student. Now was one of those times. He detected the pulse of magic spark from the fellow professor and his brow furrowed. He did not approve of using magic on students when not teaching or absolutely necessary. He threw Kyle a disapproving glare placing a hand on the well dressed arm that grasped his student. A chill emitted from his touch, crystalline frost spreading from his fingers. “I am sure Mr Wavecrest won't be giving anyone a reason to test his self-healing outside of my classroom, Professor.” Pulling on Kyle's arm he looked kindly upon Thonovan again, "Although I'll be sure to cover the nuances of defending against more advanced magic, like electricity," he glanced pointedly at Professor Andrew "this term. Just to be on the safe side."
