I was thinking of making a ten-year-old princess for the kingdom of Michael. I read over the profiles for Cordelia and Auberon and it seemed their mother died in childbirth. The way I was thinking, maybe he picked up a second wife, though you can decide whether she fulfilled the requirements of being a queen or just sort of a concubine, so that she could have my character. There could also be a chance that the original queen survived the ordeal, but was very weak and almost always bedridden, and then she sudden produced a child (The horror if she committed infidelity) or maybe the king had a fling while his wife was bedridden and had to accept her as his bastard child after the queen died.

(The second idea is a little cool, but I don't know anything about the late king :/)

What are your thoughts on this?

Picture:
(Quote): A soft spoken and reserved man, his desire to serve god, king, and country could rival that of some knights. Many of those that know his curse see him and wonder what his swift and terrible power could do if left unchecked, a few wonder what could have possibly occurred for him to be cursed with such a sinister "gift", and fewer still pity him, not just for his affliction, but for knowledge of the fact that he is a man that has long since forgotten the touch of another.

Name: Cain Argus
Age: 28
Race: Cursed Human
Role & Kingdom: Bishop of Raphael
Ability & Weapon: Cain's curse causes any living matter that comes into contact with his skin to rapidly decay into dust. To be more precise, it acts as a siphon, draining away the victim's very life essence to add to his own, resulting in an increased lifespan based on how many years the creature grabbed had left in its natural lifespan. He typically wields a mace as his go to weapon

Biography: Unlike a few cursed individuals Cain's affliction came not from acquiring favor from a demon, rather from the actions of his own kin turning him into a bartering chip. His grandfather was a warlock, making pact after pact with all manner of demon and devil in exchange for greater power. At some point he lost track of all of the deals he'd made and found himself neck deep in debt. His solution? Offer up any and everything he could to get out of being dragged to hell. Artifacts were traded, favors done, and apprentices sacrificed, but no matter what was done it never seemed enough. Eventually he managed make a last ditch attempt to weasel his way out of losing his soul by offering up his firstborn grandchild to the demon that he'd done the most deals with in exchange for every other cost being dropped. There was a bit of a debate on what would happen to the then twelve year old Cain, but ultimately the demon settled on him being cursed rather than simply sacrificed or being used as a vessel.
Cain, for his part, was completely unaware of what had transpired until one morning he tried to pet the family dog at breakfast only for it to turn into a pile of dust. This caused quite an uproar with his family to say the least, and after several doctor and church visitations word got out about the boy's lethal touch. Being that the town Cain lived in at the time was both superstitious and relied solely on crops and livestock, Cain found his family and himself driven out of town in rather short order to prevent everything being reduced to dust at his hands. For a little while the family eked out a living at the very edge of town, but as the years went by, it became increasingly clear that Cain's family desperately wanted to return to their old home.
Their chance came in the form of a cleric from Raphael passing through to pass on the Good Word. After no small amount of pleading with the holy man Cain was left in the care of the church so that his family could return. It was there that he learned that his curse could be lifted by an angel if he could somehow gain favor, and it was with this knowledge that he began working as hard as he could within the church. His fervent desire to do good, devotion to the kingdom, and magical aptitude pushed him through the ranks of the clergy in a rather short period of time, with him being ranked as a bishop at the age of twenty six. He has held this rank for two years now, and, while he still has not yet gained the attention of any angels as far as he's aware, holds out hope that one day he can lift his curse.

Hello, thank you for applying! Though I appreciate your creativity in writing a description of your character, there's a problem! Overalls are a modern garment - we're in times that are more medieval. Brinley would be wearing a dress, like any other female servant, and of course, boots.
I do have another problem - the kingdoms are large, and encompass many villages and towns. So you wouldn't just be coming from a foreign town, you'd be coming from a foreign kingdom. The first "civilization" you'd come across wouldn't just be the kingdom of Gabriel out of the blue - you'd have to make it out of your own kingdom first. I'm not sure where you're going with the refugee thing, either. They aren't running from a war - just bandits - and I don't see how being from a foreign kingdom would be enough to warrant so much disdain from anyone.
For these reasons, we can't accept your character. You're free to revise her if you really want to join, though!

I'm alive and ready to rumble. I mean, continue tending to the roleplay, answering questions, splitting up my responsibilities with my co-GM, and writing profiles. Though, I will have to do some of this after music lessons.

@AimeChambers -- You shouldn't have to worry about any of that because, reading over Cordelia and Auberon profiles, they are two different people from two different countries. Cordelia is from the Kingdom of Raphael as princess and Auberon is from the Kingdom of Raphael as king. They are two different families due to location and surnames. (I can understand if you got confused though -- though Auberon does cite a twin named Adeline within the profile while Cordelia's profile doesn't seem to give the name of her brother...)

So, if you wanted to make a princess of that age for the Kingdom of Michael, you can without having to change the mother! If you wanted to do such for the Kingdom of Raphael, you'll need to have the old king pick up a new queen. The queen for the Kingdom of Michael lived to become assassinated while the Kingdom of Raphael's queen died during childbirth.

Also, yes, go on and post Ainsley's profile in the character tab!

@MonsieurShade -- I like seeing this character back. Approved -- feel free to post his profile in the character tab!

"The captain? Aye, hes a good man. Stern but fair, got himself a heart of gold locked away in a steel fortress. Still id follow him to whatever end is in store for us a hundred times without question."

Name: Hadrian Venisi
Age: 34
Race: Angel (though he prefers to masquerade as a blessed human as to not attract any undue attention)
Kingdom: The Kingdom of Michael
Role: Knight
Divine Ability: Light Manipulation, Hard-light constructs
Weapon Ability: Swords and pole-arms
Weapon: An Estoc, and (if needed) a boar spear made out of hard-light
Biography: The Venisi were a house of minor renown on the brink of fading in to the history of the land, due to their minor wealth and the fact that the lord at the time had no heirs to speak of, not a single daughter or son graced his home, not for the lack of trying. Still he and his wife were beginning to grow older and the thought of children became that of remorseful dinner conversation, until Hadrian was conceived. He was an energetic boy in his youth, often running out into the forests and fields for hours. One day however he never returned. Panic gripped the lord's heart as he quickly thought of what to do. The next morning he was about to gather a party to search for his son, when against all odds the boy returned, a bit worse for ware but alive. The lord never knew what happened to him out there in the woods, but his son was changed, both in a behavior sense and displaying powers he never could before.

But the years marched on as they do, and Hadrian grew up. Soon his father sent him off to train with another minor noble's son in the capitol in the ways of combat. Hadrian was a quick study, quickly adopting unconventional weapons to gain an edge in combat (such as his Estoc, which became is go to weapon). He was also noted for his compassion among his years training under various knights and commanders. When he reached his 21 year he was officially knighted and given leave to return home for a time, a welcome relief for the young man. But as he neared his home he couldn't help but notice an inky black smoke hanging over the village that led to the manor where he had spent his childhood. With a swear he spurred his horse faster, closing the distance between him and the remains of what had been his home. Arrows an corpses dotted the approach, showing signs of a recent battle, with the burned out building serving as a clear sign of who lost. As he picked his way through the wreckage of a few houses, it seemed more and more obvious that the chances of finding any survivors were quickly draining away. The young Hadrian was about to give up when he spied something half buried under a collapsed wall. Acting quickly the young knight moved the charred wood to discover a small child laying face down in the soot. Scooping up the child he ascertained that she still had some life in her, and could be saved if he hurried.

Riding back to the capitol at a hard pace, he war relieved when the healers told him that the child would make a full recovery. Leaving her to rest and heal, Hadrian spent the next few weeks tracking down the perpetrators of the attack, spending many a sleepless night pouring over reports from the countryside for any indication of who could have committed such an act. He was nearing the end of his rope when he found what he was looking for, reports of a large group of bandits that had been ravaging the area for a time now. Apparently they were a former mercenary band that had a falling out with their former employers and had gutted them before the end of their contract, effectively blacklisting them from any honorable work again.

It would be two days before he was given leave to gather a group of fellows to hunt down the brigands, and surprisingly he spent those two days by the young girls side, talking to her, reading her stories, ensuring her wounds were healing properly, and so on. Even when the group was to set out he snuck in to the infirmary where she slept to see her, and give his promise that he would return unharmed. As they days wore on the knights tracked the band slowly, never gaining much ground on them, seemingly a step behind in every way, until the sun set on the seventh day. As they were stopping for the night, one of the knights noticed a glow emanating from a nearby cave. Upon inspection they were all surprised to learn that they had unintentionally stumbled upon the bandits encampment. Hadrian quietly told the others to wait for him as he drew his blade, giving each a comforting smile as he descended into the cave's mouth. What happened next is disputed even among those who were there, but one fact remains apparent, as soon as Hadrian disappeared a bright flash of light spilled out of the cave, like the rising of the morning sun, only to be followed by the screams of frightened men and the light sound of small bells. Hadrian alone exited the cave, his face darkened by remorse at what had transpired, his fellows knowing well enough not to ask him what had happened. In the morning they rode back to the capitol in silence, and reported back to their superiors that their deed was done.

Hadrian was quick to take his leave to visit Olifina once more, only to find that she had left the infirmary, taken to the palace just that morning. With the up-most speed, the knight sprinted through the capitol, his mind reeling with questions. As he neared the palace he found that the guards actually stood aside without a word and let him inside when he gave his name in a rushed tone. He was met by one of the servants and was ushered through the many halls until he came to a large library, a quiet place lined with wooden shelves and a hearth, who's fire still crackled with some life. He moved slowly as to not disturb the silence, his foot falls slow and measured.

That was until he came face to face with the king, and in a moment of panic dropped to a knee, his armor clattering fairly loudly. A sight the king found very amusing. Motioning for the knight to rise, the monarch first began by stating his condolences and congratulations, before turning to a table that contained a couple heavily bound books and a few mismatched pieces of clutter. Hadrian was an odd mix of baffled and astounded at the conversation that began to transpire. The king continued on, unfazed by Hadrian's confusion, and began to explain that Hadrian's land was to be absorbed by another lord, as to minimize the cost of rebuilding. this made Hadrian begin to speak up in protest when he was stopped by the king, who continued on by saying that while he was losing his lands, he was in the kings words "owed a payment both in reparations, and reward for services thus far." and as such he was to retain the title that now passed to him and was to be given a manor in the capitol itself. As for a source of income he was to take over the training of the new knights, as well as the serving in the kings honorgaurd. Once more Hadrian was at a loss for words, but soon found his voice, asking what was to become of Olifina. The king smiled and simply stated that the necessary papers had already been drawn up, all Hadrian needed to do was to sign them. Which Hadrian did without a second thought, taking the young 5 year old as his new ward, and giving her the rights granted to those of noble birth.

Once more the years went on, Hadrian proving himself and earning the kings trust enough to become a sort of de-facto adviser to the king, as well as a father to Olifina. The old king and queen's passing saddened Hadrian to be sure, but he took it in stride as best he could, hoping to serve the new king and queen in much the same respect, but to also not fail as he thinks he had before.

"A bright one that one, both figuratively and literally. A sharp mind, and the ability to glow like the morning stars, the universe dose have a sense of irony it turns out."

Name: Olifina Venisi (or just Fina for short)
Age: 19
Race: Blessed Human
Kingdom: The kingdom of Micheal
Role: Servant (Lady-in-waiting)/warrior
Ability: Light Manipulation
Weapon: Longbows/crossbows
Biography: The adopted daughter of Hadrian, Olifina was originally from the small town that his family controlled, before it was razed to the ground when she was barely 5 years of age. Of that event, and even the years preceding it, her memory is fuzzy, something that might trouble her if she gave it more than a passing thought. Yet she remembers Hadrian well, her fist sight of him being his sleeping form slouched in the chair next to the bed where she was recovering, his light snoring the only sound in the infirmary. A memory she will always smile about when remembering it. It should be noted that another memory that she has a vivid recollection of, is her 8th birthday. She had been given various gifts and had eaten her fill of sweets throughout the day, and was beginning to feel the weight of her eye lids as sleep crept up on her mind. Quietly she lifted herself into Hadrian's lap, as he sat in front of the fire, clutching her favorite stuffed doll. He simply grinned and began to run his fingers through her hair humming lightly. Just as she was about to fall asleep Olifina heard her father speak to her, his voice quiet as to not startle her. "My dear? Im afraid I have one last birthday surprise for you. But first I must know, if you could do one thing I could what would it be?"

Even half asleep she grinned as she knew the answer she would choose immediately, and answering with a yawn she chose "I want to shine and play with the sun."

Hadrian grinned as he placed a hand below her right ear, a light emanating from beneath it "Done my morning star, now sleep, tomorrow will come sooner than you think."

From this point she began to share Hadrian's light bending ability, getting to the point where she uses it as easily and as little thought as one breathes. A develpment Hadrian found a number of things (mainly interesting, worrying, and amusing at times)

Growing up as Hadrian's daughter meant that Olifina was given a nobles education, and while she sometimes was as stubborn as an ox with a sore foot, she was quite the avid learner. Many a time Hadrian had to retrieve a tome from her sleeping hands as she slept. She would often attended Hadrian's classes (her school lessons permitting), and quickly found that she much preferred the bow over almost any melee combat form, quickly becoming a steady hand at the weapon. She also dabbled in the crossbow in recent years, though the traditional bow still remains her tried and true favorite.

She began serving the court nearly from the day she and Hadrian moved into their home in the city, her father's position affording her to become essentially what she is now from day one. Like her father she was shaken by the assassination, but doesn't really like to dwell on it too much, due to the fact that she knows her father partially blames himself for it.

Special Notes:
* She is one of the very few to actually know what Hadrian's angelic form looks like, and also one of the very few to actually have seen it on multiple occasions.
* Her blessing mark is located just blow her right ear

My princess of Michael is done.

"I wish I could hear Princess Serenity's singing again."

Name: Serenity Michelle Zaphiris (Princess Serenity, a.k.a. Nity)
Age: 10
Race: Angel
Role & Kingdom: Princess of Michael
Ability & Weapon: Air Manipulation, Flight

Biography: Born so many years later than her older brother and sister, she never got to play with anyone her own age. Serenity thought her older sister was wonderful, but took more to her older brother Auberon that always seemed to be sad somehow.

She mostly stayed with her mother through her life, finding that she was horrible when it came to such things as calculations and having terrible writing skills. Serenity was more into music, playing the piano, flute, and having a love of singing with her mother.

Whenever she can sneak away from her lessons, she would slip into Auberon's room to see what he was up to, usually interrupting.

When her parents died, she closed herself off to everyone but her brother. She refused to play anything to do with music, for she loved to play her instruments with her mother's singing. Serenity strayed away from touching other people, thinking of her father's big hand. Even though the girl became excellent in her studies, she was not the star she once was.

@urukhai They're fantastic! You just need final world from Draco before you post your characters in the character thread!
Is Olifina primarily a servant, or primarily a warrior? I need to know where to list her.

@SleepingSilence Because we don't have our lore post up, it wasn't mentioned, but Lucifer is an NPC. He can't be king of the kingdom of Lucifer for that reason. I'm sorry! I'm definitely going to have to refuse him. If you still want to be the king of Lucifer, he needs to be his own person.
As for Gilgamesh, I'm confused - has he been a demon the whole time? Demons don't develop from humans, which is what it sounds like he was. The kingdom of Lucifer is a secret, so he couldn't have just ended up there. Also, if he's fighting, he's either a warrior or a knight. I'm intrigued by his story, but it just doesn't seem to fit together. I'm going to have to refuse him as well, though you're welcome to revise him.

@Cubix I'm a bit confused by Rancor's story - if he was recruited by an officer to be knighted or become a warrior, why was he kept around when he couldn't complete the task? It doesn't make sense that he would be delegated to be a chef for the monarchs when he was previously living in the slums of the kingdom. I don't think it's realistic that he and his family would have been allowed to stay.
Aside from that, I'm not seeing any problems with his profile, though Draco will be looking him over as well.

@AimeChambers Serenity sounds adorable! Draco will need to look her over as well, but I like her! (Auberon may be very focused on his twin, but he's definitely going to be a doting older brother!)

I'm present and will address everything I can see with the best of my ability.

@Wisp -- ilu but u kinda screwed up but it okay i got you covered ❤ (sparkles ablaze) (reverts back to serious sounding gm voice)

@urukhai -- Approved. Do let the co-GM know whether or not Olifina is primary servant or primary warrior, then post them in the character tab. Olifina will still be considered both a servant and warrior, but this primary-role is only for listing purposes.

@SleepingSilence -- I will like to deeply apologize to you for not having much of the lore revealed. While your character may not be the NPC Lucifer, your character may still be who they are, implying that they are their own person... If this makes sense. Sure, your character may still be named Lucifer, but perhaps a nickname or a name adopted and used by everyone else. As for real name and real backstory (for the individual character), if you wish to keep such secret, do remember that both GM and co-GM must know anything secret before using such. Otherwise, put a little bit of that in the profile, perhaps before the rest of the info. The only other things I would request would be an estimated appearance age (or a real age) instead of a mysterious number and clarification on "Power of Destruction" -- what can and cannot be done with this power?

As for Gilgamesh, it does sounds like he went from human to demon. Unlike what the co-GM slipped, it is possible to have a demon vessel if one's body is weak enough before puberty hits. The vague ending for his biography leaves things unclear of what happened to him. I'm going to assume that he died though and then became a demon, which isn't a case I can allow. I can allow the formerly stated ones and the other two forms mentioned under the Roles & Races -> Races -> Demon section -- he could have been an angel fallen from grace or made a humanoid shape to appear in while still being a demon.

I would like to see these characters in the roleplay. I like them! However, I must stick with rules and specifics. I will gladly look at a revised version of these profiles if given the chance, and if you have any more questions, let me know!

@Cubix -- I'm very close to accepting this profile, but my only request would be to make him more of a personal servant, such as waiting on a monarch for dressing or other duties? Only because his primary ability would probably have him tasked more towards that work. Sure, perhaps he does some cooking time to time, but probably not the primary chef. That's all -- sorry if that seems really minuscule.

@AimeChambers -- Approved, though the co-GM did slip up again on this. Two angels will not birth an angel, but a human. Serenity could have became an angel by an angel using Serenity as a vessel. For as long as a character's body is used as a vessel before the age of puberty, their body may be possessed by either an angel or demon.

And with that, I think I'm done with responding to you all... I think.
