He was born in the the unforgiving slums of "East gate Ambrosia." East gate faces a sprawling tent city of refugees from burned down settlements and vagrants who left the smaller, more unsafe societies to seek the protection of Ambrosias walls. But for as fast as the city grows, the houses aren't erected in a day. The tent and shack town of East Gate is the result of this. By far the citys most lawless area, Cheng had to act as both protector and moral compass for his siblings. It was not a easy task, especially since their parents were rarely home. Both of them worked at the wall, helping the expansion of it. By the time he was 17, Cheng had lost his youngest brother to a "accidental" gun discharge. Lou had snuck out to hang with some of the "tough kids". One of them had found a old, rusted, pre-fall gun. And instead of turning it in to someone who knows how to use it, and likely get a fat reward; He showed it off. Said boy got in a argument with Lou, and pointed the gun at him. It went off, hitting Lou righ in the throat. Upon hearing of Lous death who at the time of death had been 12, Cheng investigated and found out who had shot his little brother. Instead of killing him, as many others in East Gate would have done, he brought him before the Arbiters, the wasteland equivalence of the police. One Arbiter, Jolinda Harris, was impressed with the boys sense of right and wrong. She recruited him with a promise of making sure his family was provided for. 8 years later, Cheng is a Arbiter himself. A well respected peacekeeper, he patrols the outer Ambrosian settlements, as well as providing pro-bono protection for expeditions. Based around the use of unarmed combat, guns and batons, its a close quarter, urban fighting style optimized to take out multiple human foes in quick succession. Its a light, compact sub machine gun with surprising range and accuracy for its size. A ideal weapon in the cramped cornerns of settlements and raider camps, Betsy has seen a lot of use.
