Before I continue reading all these interesting nation sheets, I've half a mind to create a smaller, independent nation reminiscent of late 1700s to early to mid 1800s America, with different technology than those time periods to fit the Steampunk feel of course. I had in mind this nation would have branched off from a stricter, more religious and taxing country, of which I see a few already put up. Anyone want to do a national history collaboration to fit this idea? It'd be leaning moreso near the end of your nation's history, so you wouldn't have to change up too much/would leave more than enough room for your own history.
