[@Sagittarius]: I don't think abilities are dibs. It might get boring if several (i.e. more than 3) have the same abilities, but as far as I'm aware, I don't think any are technically reserved. And if they are, they are because they belong to an already approved character.

[@6slyboy6]: I was planning on making a male, but I may make two, one male and one female. I might even rewrite the male as a female if I saw it as necessary.
