“I just don’t see the sudden interest in these things, Miss Kasimir. I assure you we have everything sorted out and handled favorably for the company.” “And I appreciate it Wilson, but the company will still be in the clear with lower rates.” “At almost triple the time!“ “Wilson.” From her position in front of the desk, one leg crossed over the other with her back straight and brow arched, Zoey Kasimir fitted her coldest gaze upon her regional manager. She at least fit the part of rich bitch well enough in this moment. “As I’ve stated I appreciate your efforts, but Vale Street Apartments were originally made for low income families.” Wilson was a good business man, fit and with hair just barely beginning to grey, but in this moment his age was beginning to show as he dealt with this young upstart. He rubbed a great hand at the bridge of his nose, taking in a deep breath. “There’s not even time to change the plans to something less expensive, the McClain boys are all set to start demolition.” “Then don’t change them.” Another frustrated groan. “Miss Kasimir, our business the past few years has been thriving, with only the lightest touch from your father before-“ “Well maybe we should change our business plan from that of a murderer!” And just like that the mask broke, and with it Zoey’s calm. Her brows furrowed down harshly and teeth gritting. In an instant she was on her feet, grinding out between her teeth. “I’ve made my decision. Is that clear, Wilson?” “…” “I said, is. That. Clear?” “… Yes, Miss Kasimir. My apologies.” As soon as the words left his mouth the desire to leave entered Zoey’s body, but she managed to grit down the urge to instead hold her hand out and keep her gaze level with the older man’s. “Thank you. Keep up the good work, Wilson, I’ll see myself out.” “It was my pleasure.” It took only moments after that for Zoey to reach outside once more, pace steady and confident as she walked through the head office of Kasimir Realty. The receptionist made sure to tell her to enjoy the rest of the day, earning a small nod in response. As soon as the door to the limousine closed however the redhead immediately began to curse, hissing through her teeth. As Jasper slid into the driver’s seat she merely raised an eyebrow and started the car. “I take it the meeting went well, Miss Kasimir.” “Arrogant, condescending man! Oh no, it’ll take a little longer to recoup our costs from construction. Oh nooo, your father never bothered us before because he was too busy being an evil, vile man!” “I doubt they were quite so forward, Miss Kasimir.” A huff was Jasper’s response, the young woman crossing her arms and sinking into the seat in a mood reminiscent of a brooding child. “I need a drink, Jasper.” “Of course. Will you be inviting the one who inspired this change to join you?” A small quirk of her brow was the first sign that Jasper had sufficiently derailed Zoey’s line of thought, the vigilante’s fingers briefly moving to touch where the top of her phone just barely peeked from a pocket. Due completely to her charms Zoey had a new number in her phone, one that she was now considering calling. “You don’t think it’d be too soon?” “Fortune favors the bold.” “I’m not interested in asking that reporter out, thanks.” Zoey couldn’t help it – she laughed at her own joke. Jasper merely rolled her eyes in response. At least Zoey was happier. “Maybe though, maybe-“ It seemed her phone had other plans in that moment however as it began to vibrate. For a moment the redhead brightened as she retrieved and unlocked the phone, eyes scanning the message. Instantly her grin dripped to a grimace and she straightened up. “Business calls, Miss Kasimir?” “Business calls.” She agreed, pocketing the phone. “This time don’t stay up waiting for me.” They both of course knew that Jasper wouldn’t listen to that, but there was no time to argue. Slipping into a shadow had Zoey soon taking the faster route back to her home, and a quick changing session later had Reaper backtracking to head towards Francesco Way. Admittedly, Zoey did have to stop briefly atop a roof to check on her phone where in the world 3155 Francesco Way was. She didn’t exactly know her way around this part of town easily. With that little hiccup out of the way it took only a few minutes for Zoey to find her way to the proper neighbourhood, soon cautiously crouched on top of a roof two doors down from the target. She briefly considered shadow stepping just that bit further to the roof of 3155, but to be honest Zoey wasn’t even sure it would hold her weight – it was already partially gone! Not to mention the place seemed abandoned. Definitely wasn’t one of her properties. Taking a deep breath Reaper focused on the hidden part of her abilities, trying to pick apart the mass of dark blobs in her minds’ eye as she sought out beacons. It was easier the closer she was, and so she could tell at least one thing about the house – and there was someone hiding nearby. A frown tugged at Reaper’s lips beneath her black mask as she considered what to do, wondering if one of her teammates had already started investigating. This would be so much easier if Ditch had given them each other’s phone numbers – or they even thought to do so themselves. A small huff before Reaper made an executive decision and was soon shadow stepping once more, looking for the beacon that was out of place and away from the house. If it was a civilian maybe a little power display could convince them to leave. Luckily, it never came to that. Reaper quirked a brow beneath her mask as she glanced over another roof’s edge towards the powerhouse known as Tank. He was hiding, apparently waiting for the rest of them. It was best not to keep him waiting. Reaper stepped back and once more disappeared into a shadow at her feet, only to step out right beside Tank – well, almost. If he swung from surprise she didn’t want to be in range. “Has anyone else come?” The vigilante asked quietly. There was no point in hiding her voice right now – he already heard it the other day. “Because there’s at least one person around the vicinity of that house.” A pause then, as Reaper glanced between the house and Tank. “… How are you going to get in there?”
