It would seem Mike's attempt to deflect the attention from himself had, for the time being, been successful; because as soon as Oliver mentioned taking the Animagus test when Christmas break came around, Mel leaned forward eagerly to look at the older Hufflepuff boy. 

She'd always thought studying to shape change was cool, but she'd never considered it herself. The thought of how difficult it could be, put her off almost instantly, given that she struggled to transfigure a simple goblet into a mouse without it going horribly awry.
