Megan took out of her book bag an fetched her Gamp's Laws of Elemental Transfiguration book and then two large journals.

One Journal was nearly filled with her handwritten notes as dictated by her Aunt Livonia an titled "Transfiguration, Toads and other Forms" which was likely one of the definitive outlines of Human and Animal  Transfiguration she could ever get her hands on. The other journal was only partly used because it was labeled 6th year Transfiguration notes and she'd only been writing in it for the past two weeks.

She opened the books on the seat across from her then took out her pattern circle and activated it so that it would float in the air before her. Next she retrieved false wand (a practice wand with no magical potential) both items were of her own design with the pattern circle costing her over 395 Galleons to have fabricated to her specifications.

She tapped the ring with the false wand as she pictured the precise pattern of a transfiguration spell. The she stuck the wand inside the ring and wove the pattern as exactly as her hand could trace. The ring responded to the wand by making a glowing replication of what she 'd traced overlaying what it should be showing her how accurately she'd used her wand.

She gazed critically at her work annoyed with the flaws she saw there because of how they could effect her spell. Transfiguration required a level of control that was beyond those required to cast charms and hexes.  She wanted to become an expert in the field and an Animagus without parallel.
