Moses whistled, impressed by the loot Nikki had brought back. "Not shabby at all." He pondered for a bit and informed them of their new plan of action. "All right so basically we're going to pull the same plan we already discussed. We're still going to grab those meds for Jane, and the gas for Jess and Kyre but first we're going to head the subdivision Nikki's talking about, grab those supplies and the cars. That'll make the rest of the run faster. Sounds like a plan, right Alex?"

He called after Hunter. "We're gonna need some help clearing the gate. I'm kinda curious if your as good with that bow as you say you are."

Hunter grabbed an apple from his pocket, taking a bite out of it while his eyes scanned the area around them. He was trying to spot if any zombies were going to his way, but thankfully no one was around. That was till he heard the leader calling out for him, Hunter turned around before walking towards Moses as he rolled his eyes and grabbed onto his bow handler, tightly. "Let's get to it then, boss." he'd say with a grunt, while making his way to the gates.

Nikki put everything she had collected on the cafeteria table and stuffed the bag back into her pocket. She waited for Alex and the others. While she waited she pulled her hair back and tied it into a ponytail. It was hot out there and killing zombies was hot work.

She pulled out a pack of twizzlers and started to chew on one as she inspected her sword. She did this often. She was still subconsciously worried about messing it up even though she knew in her heart her dad was probably dead. He had worked in a twenty story building downtown. Chances would be slim to none that he could have made it out of that building.

"Sounds good to me." Alex said with a nod as he looked at Moses. He gripped his metal bat tightly and then went back to his room somewhere. He had grabbed his backpack, for the goods, and then left for the gates. The backpack was empty save for a water bottle since he had to fill it up later on. He placed the other things in his room for now. Hopefully, he could get back to it.

He stopped at the gates and then waited with the others. This was actually his first time going out with Hunter and Nikki so he wasn't sure what to expect with the two. Well, no matter, he knew that they would be reliable.

Nick joined in with the rest of them. He may be going in a different direction, but it would still be easier on him if there were less walkers on his way out, once at the gate, he stopped and turned to Alex.

"I don't mind company, to be sure," he said, idly twirling his crowbar, "but I don't think anyone would want to go with me, especially not with what I have planned."

He took a small can from the side pocket of his bag and showed it to him with a savage grin on his face. Upon closer inspection, the can was, in fact, a foghorn.

"We're gonna need the space if we want a smooth trip once that bus is up and running, but the penitentiary is filled with ex-convicts who couldn't get out in time. I say we lock 'em back in. There's about a hundred or so in the area, judging from my last trip there, so," he turned to the others, who he was sure heard at least some of what he said, "anyone that wants to come with, go on right ahead, just don't blame me if you find yourself as meal of the day."

Nikki looked at Alex's bat. She grinned. "Hey Alex? I bet I can knock off more heads than you can?" She nodded towards the gate. "You get the left side I got the right." Alex looked at her and accepted her challenge. As soon as the gate opened up they started to come in and Nikki and Alex started batting and hacking away. Within just a few minutes they had the path cleared and the gate closed back up.

"That's what I like to hear." He grinned and followed Hunter to the gates. He stopped by his room first to grab his gun and axe and continued back to the gate. He rested the length of his axe on his shoulders as he examined the zombies at the gate the closer they got. The gate opened up and the Zed poured in. He swung and the blade of his planted itself into a zombies skull, which he effortlessly pulled free the rest of the crowding dead went down fast enough after that.

"Well Nikki lead the way." His typical goofy grin on his face again. Moses didn't really stay upset about anything for too long and the prospect of being out and about and killing zombies again further elevated his mood. "I'm sure Alex probably has a guess about what your talking about though. Always prepared, that's why I like him."

Before Nick left he faced him. "That prison is going to be flocking with dead. I mean you have a point." God he didn't like saying that. "But are you you wanna risk it?"

Before going, however, Alex looked at Nick as he started to explain. "Well I would want to go with you, but kinda already have a place to go." And admittedly, it didn't sound like a welcoming place at all. The penitentiary sounded like a zombie-filled place. His eyes widened at the foghorn. "I wish you the best of luck with what you're trying to do Nick." Alex said with a grin before resting his bat on the ground and then facing the gate.

His head snapped to Nikki as she challenged him. "I don't really like the idea of having a competition at a time like this." He muttered. He was the type of person to keep his eyes on the goal and not do anything else other than to survive and get to that certain goal. This challenge was something that was not within those two. But then again, the gate already opened and he was in front. He sighed, not really accepting the challenge but raising his bat to protect himself, and then started smashing the zombies' heads.

It was quite hard and taxing, swinging the bat repeatedly and making contact with the still hard skull of zombies, but it was nothing he couldn't handle. Guts were splattering all over as skulls cracked open with the impact. The zombies would soon slowly disappear, becoming what they're supposed to be (dead) and the gates closed with them on the other side. He adjusted his pack before looking at Nikki, ready to follow her and help her kill if need be.

As soon as they got closer to the gate, a few zombies were there and Moses was already attacking. Hunter kicked one of the zombies on the ground before drawing an arrow to the bow as he shot the arrow right in the middle of his forehead, a perfect shot. He quickly turned around as another zombie was behind him, Hunter punched the walking dead on the face as the Zombie fell on the ground and quickly drew out his pocket knife to stab it on the head, where is the spot where the zombies usually die everytime they are shot there. "You know, all of us didn't really have to go. Or else who would stay behind to protect the others?" Hunter spoke while taking out his knife from the zombie's head.

Hunter stood up from the ground, noticing one more zombie making its way towards the group. He grabbed the arrow he used on one of the zombies before launching it towards the zombie that made its way to them. The arrow shot perfectly at the zombie, whom was a few feet away from the group as it hit straight on the head, killing it in impact. Hunter turned towards the others before running his fingers through his smoothly hair and staring at Alex.

"So, are you going to lead this group to the prison now or what?"

Nicodemus simply smiled. "Hey, no risk no reward, right? Anyway, I've got a plan. If all goes well, then I'll be bringing home some goodies and the roads will be zombie free."

Two zombies approached him from the left. He gave a sardonic smirk. To Nicodemus, it was beyond amusing to think that these things were somehow responsible for the downfall of post-modern civilization. They were slow, clumsy, and overwhelmingly stupid -- as more zombies approached him, Nicodemus gave a hard shove of his foot, toppling over one and that was soon joined by more. With the more numerous threat taken care of, he turned to the closes walker and bashed it upside the head, sending it to the ground right away.

The rest of them on the ground? Nic unsheathed his knife a drove it through the eyes of every last one of them.

Standing up, he turned to Alex while wiping the blood off his knife with a kerchief. "Well, I don't usually rely on luck, but hey, every little bit helps," he said with a grin. He then turned to Hunter. "Then does that mean you're volunteering to stay?"

"Anyway, I'll be heading off now. If you make it to the pharmacy, look for more than medicines. Remember to pick up as many cough masks, soaps, and condoms as you can," he said offhand. "Catch you later."

With that, he began jogging towards the penitentiary.

Nikki was in a good mood. It was a good day to be alive and she was thankful that she was. It was one of those days she was glad to have been a cheerleader. She glanced over at Alexander since he was the closest to her eyeline and she smiled and said, "Cheer up Alex, look at the beautiful day. Wait til you guys see these cars. They are fantastic!" She glanced back over her shoulder and saw Moses and Hunter. She stopped and her brow furrowed with concern. "Where did Nick go? Did he decide not to come?" She looked to Moses and Hunter. She saw their expressions and she turned and stabbed a zombie about five feet from her. "So where is Nick?"

Moses shrugged at Hunter as he continued following Nikki. "You can stay if you like Hunter. I'm sure the place'll be fine for a couple hours without us but we do have to get this done." Honestly surprised by how upbeat Nikki was, Moses laughed. "Glad to see someone else isn't all doom and gloom. I was beginning to think something was wrong with me."

Hunter stared at the others with an eyebrow rose, blinking a few before looking back at Moses. "You were the one who told -me- to come with you and now you are telling me to stay? I -never- said that I wanted to fucking stay." he'd say a bit angry before waiting for the group to continue their walk so he'll follow behind them. Now they wanted to gang up on Hunter knowing that he didn't have the patience for people ganging on him, so he just stood quiet and waited for them to proceed on their walk to follow right behind them.

"Fucking idiots. I swear, Moses think of me as what? This is why I don't like working with people." he'd thought while rubbing the back of his head, tightening the handler of his bow. It was obvious that Hunter was angry at how they wanted to get rid of him.

"We're not going to the prison Hunter, Nick is." Alex pointed before looking at Nick and then nodding, adding them to the mental list he had on his head. No matter what they said about Nick, and how much of a pain he is at times, he's actually quite 'dependable' so to say and his skills are no joke either. He then waved goodbye using a two finger salute before swinging the bat at one of the zombies' head.

His mood considerably lightened at Nikki's enthusiasm. "Yeah, I suppose today's a perfect they for scavenging." He said, a grin present on his face. "But admittedly, I'm more of a fan of running than cars but, if you say it's good, then it is."

"And about the school grounds, I think they'll be fine. Kyre's with them and he's capable of protecting the others." He pointed out. That guy, despite being the source of Moses's headaches, can fully protect himself and the others. "Besides, they have spare guns there right?"

Moses' smile faltered for a bit, his own temper flaring up slightly before he seemed to remember where he was and it reigned back in. Regular Moses, you gotta stay regular. He grinned again and faced Hunter. "Calm down man. All I was saying is that you keep bringing up protection at the school, if you're worried about it you're welcome to stay behind. No disrespect intended."

Deciding it best to give the bowman some space he picked up the pace behind Nikki and Alex. "Nope Nick isn't coming with us. He's decided he's going to attract zombies into the prison and lock 'em up in there. Risky move, but he's just that kind of a guy." Moses shuddered in an exaggerated manner. "Frankly he creeps me the hell out, but if anyone can pull of something that insane its definitely him."

Hunter nodded before walking away from the others, he wasn't staying there but he was going somewhere else. He was tired of the group and Moses was the main one who started to pick on the Bowman. So, he was on his own. "Have a good life to you all." he muttered to himself while walking away.

"Come ON you son of a BITCH!" Kyre was losing his patience with the last seat. The metal bars were practically rusted together and he was having a hell of a time taking it apart. Being the sociopath he was meant he practically had no resistance to his anger, which means he was very easily pissed off when things don't go his way. He grunted as he fixed his grip on the metal bar and tried pulling again. His teeth were clenched so tightly with rage, you'd think they'd crack. "YOU FUCKING-" A loud snap and a clank rang out in the garage as the bar actually snapped in half where it was most rusted, sending Kyre into the side of the bus. There was a moment of silence. Crouched against the bus wall after colliding with it, not even caring about the pain in his shoulder, Kyre found himself staring at the metal bar in his hands with disbelief.

"Hunter come on don't go. I want you to go with us!"

She heard Moses and turned to look at him with horror in her expression. "Nick went where? How could you let him go alone? No one could do that by himself it's a suicide mission!" She was torn between their planned mission and helping Nick. "Come on we gotta pick up the pace. After I get you to the houses I am going to take a car and go help Nick at the penitentiary."

"Hunter if you stay you can help me with Nick!"
She shouted.

Nicodemus strolled down the street, out in the open just where he liked it. Of course, there was the added strategic bonus -- the fact that the streets were usually areas with clear lines of sight meant that there was no chance of being ambushed, and he could fight on his own term -- but really, that was an afterthought. He just liked the openness of it.

From the corner of his eyes he could see several walkers approaching him, attracted to his smell or the sound of his footsteps, whatever. He twirled his crowbar in expectation, still walking as though he hadn't a care in the world. And for him, that was probably the case.

For Nicodemus there were only two real ways to actually get offed by a zombie: either you get caught off guard, or you get crowded.

For him, the former was unthinkable. If there was ever a time where he was stupid enough to get ambushed by one of those mindless animals, then he would think that he very well deserved to die, because it was one thing if a planning, thinking human got him, but a whole other thing if he was somehow outplayed by a brain-dead corpse. As for the latter, well, it was difficult to get crowded by bodies that moved slower than a sloth and were as clumsy as babies on high-heels, but it was possible -- like inside buildings, for example. Not that he ever thought he would get caught in a spot like that, but he would be willing to forgive the poor sods that got caught in those situations -- unless of course, it was a byproduct of their own carelessness, in which case, like everyone else that got ambushed by a zombie, they deserved it.

With a casual step, Nicodemus got in front of the zombie closest to him, and began talking:

"You know," he said, ducking under its arms as it tried to grab him, getting past it and swinging at the zombie directly behind it. The impact on its skull made a very satisfying crack and it spasmed for a second before it crumpled to the ground, "a lot of people like to think of you guys as the "end of human civilization," but really," he hopped forward, putting space between the zombie behind him and getting closer to another two in front of him, "you're more of a reset than an end."

He swung his crowbar at an angle where the hook end latched on to one of the zombies eye-sockets. Nic increased the force of his swing, dragging the hooked zombie into colliding with the one next to it, causing it to stumble and fall. Taking advantage of the stumble, Nic withdrew his knife and placed it snugly through its eyes. For added measure, he swung his crowbar onto its head, once more eliciting a sharp crack as its skull shattered.

He turned to the first zombie, that had tripped over its own feet trying to turn around and face him. "You're little more than animals. Sure, animals that take the shape of humans, but still, animals." Three more were left, and Nicodemus regarded them all with a bored gaze. "Humanity hasn't ended yet, but we've dialed back a few thousand years, to a time when mankind formed tribes and scavenged to survive. Where we feared animals such as yourselves and hid behind fences to protect us."

Suddenly, his bored, uninterested look gave way to one of manic excitement, and Nicodemus swung his crowbar and knife in crossing arcs, smashing one through the ears and stabbing another through the nose. The first one went down immediately, while the other one remained standing, twitching violently as Nic twisted the knife in place.

"And for that, thank you so much."

He turned to the last zombie, the one that had fallen and was even now still struggling to get up, like a cockroach flipped on its back. He smiled beatifically.

"Allow me to repay your kindness."

A few minutes later, Nicodemus was back on his way to the penitentiary, his bag filled with things he had taken from the fallen corpses. He had left a small decoration for any passing survivor:

The corpses were stripped naked and dragged into the road, arranged into a large "arrow" pointing towards the direction of the prison. Written in blood beneath the arrow were the words:

"The Penitentiary is Full! Go somewhere else for supplies!"

He smiled. Hopefully no one took that to mean that there were survivors with supplies at the penitentiary. That would be terrible. Heh.
