Alexander Logarius
Name:Alexander R. Logarius
Age:31
Race:Human
Nationality:British
Gender:Male
Allegiance:Allies
Occupation/Service:Hunter - A specially trained MI6 soldier meant to effectively fight against the more supernatural, Alexander himself is classified as a
"Griffon Hunter", one who specialized in the hunting and killing of former Griffon users who have succumbed to Griffon Psychosis as well as rouge druids and other "corrupted" humans.
Appearance:As a man, Alexander is nothing short of what you'd expect of a man going into a war; tall, strong, fair haired, all the good stuff that propaganda posters like to show off about soldiers. Of course the average build of Alexander as well as his coal black wolf-like eyes and hair isn't the first thing some would think when the word "solider" is mentioned, but its not too far off. Standing at roughly 6 feet, Alexander's sharp features and gentlemanly behavior is reminiscent of old world nobles and aristocrats; you'd almost expect him to be in the House of Lords.
As for clothing, Alexander wears the normal Hunter outfit. Consisting of largely of rough, stitched black boiled leather, it consists of durable trousers and equally as durable long coat. Padded bracers and shinguards provide additional protection with the steel-toed boots providing the only real metal protection. As is tradition, the Hunters wear a cowl that covers their shoulders and lower face and a black tri-cornered hat to hide their identity.
Personality:Alexander is stoic, a man of few words but great dedication to his job. However, he is not anti-social, he is more than happy to engage and humor people in conversation so long as they come to him first as he doesn't find actively trying to pursue conversion and small talk to be worth while in most cases. Although he rarely expresses it, he sees his job as a "righteous" duty, even holy in some cases which could be the drive behind his zealous work ethic. Similarly, Alexander is quite the patriot, willing to do whatever it may be for King and Country; his fearlessness and apathetic nature towards gore and even danger only a partner to his patriotism even though it may be hidden under layers of disciplined, stoic apathy.
Despite the rather unfriendly air which tends to hang around him, not helped by his low, if not slightly unsettling voice, Alexander is actually quite the gentleman and a very British one at that. He still follows a sort of "code of chivalry" (albeit a bit bastardized) and is a connoisseur of the finer points of life. Like wine, tea, and bloodletting, yup, finer points of life indeed.
A surprising point that some cannot find any rhyme or reason to is that despite being a Griffon user himself and having been in contact with a certain blacklisted druid who gave him some of his powers, Alexander has yet to develop any sign of the infamous Griffon Psychosis. However, it is clear that something has happened to him as he sometimes talks of dreams and nightmares. While its nothing like Griffon Psychosis, Alexander has the feeling that the Crown has already sent another Hunter in preparation to kill him if he himself becomes "corrupted".
History:As many Hunters do, Alexander has little recollection of his childhood or even his life before a hunter in general, no doubt due to the government. However, what he has managed to find was that he had been orphaned after a fire killed both his parents and burnt down the family home. After living on the streets, he had been kidnapped by a rouge Druid who attempted to make a much darker contact with the Old Gods, preforming rituals and ceremonies to gruesome to describe.
It was only when the Crown had dispatched a Hunter to deal with the rouge druid that Alexander was free. Taking pity on the young boy, the Hunter had brought him back with him and introduced him to the world of not just Hunters, but Griffon Hunters. From that point on, his destiny was chosen for him as he alongside several other orphaned children were trained, honed, molded and forged into Hunters.
Since then, Alexander has been preforming Hunts and duties for the Crown, hunting down rouge druids and corrupted humans as well as exploring other supernatural events, objects and theories. His most recent assignment has brought him into the fold of the Allie's latest excursion into the middle east as an anti-superantural specialist.
Abilities:-- Beast Sight - Brought forth from a Pagan ritual which replaced his human eyes with those of a wolf as a child, nothing can hide from Alexander's gaze. Wether they be behind smoke, cover, darkness or even invisibility, Alexander will find his target without the help of the equipment usually provided to Hunters for seeking out hard to see foes.
-- Nature Fury - Temporary causes Alexander's arm to become a bundle of root-like tendrils which lash out and attack whatever is in front of him. They can also be controlled somewhat in a manner like a grappling hook. Alexander can effectively climb any thing by using this spell on both arms.
-- Hunter's Respite - Due to the aforementioned pagan rituals, Alexander not only eats and drinks less, but he also doesn't really sleep. Instead, he falls into a trance-like meditation which he is still conscious but unmoving while he regains his energy. However, Alexander claims that he still dreams in these trances and "sees" some rather...
otherwordly beings.
-- Ritual of the Hunt - The fancy name of the training which all Hunters must endure from youth, because of this Alexander is light on his feet and fearless, his stamina and endurance increased to surpass that of even SAS commandos and perhaps, even that of the American Supers...
Equipment:--
Oathkeeper - A modified Borchardt C-93, an old if not exotic-looking pistol made ironically enough in Germany, modified to carry more of punch, have a longer range and use a more common .45 ACP round, it is Alexander's personal weapon as most hunters carry the standard issue
Hunter's Handcannon, a modified Webly Revolver.
--
Threaded Cane - Alexander's primary weapon used in hunting beasts and madmen, its standard appearance takes that of a cane with and silvery grip and pointed cap at the bottom. Upon pressing and squeezing a trigger on the grip, the weapon's true form comes out: a chain-whip like weapon with deadly spikes and edges lining its length which is nearly impossible to block due to its whip-like nature. A most gruesome weapon from a less refined age indeed.
-- Explosive Ordinance Package, Hunter (EOPH) - A fancy name for the standard amount of explosives carried by hunters, contains two British Mill grenades and about 3 molotov cocktails with chemical enhancements making them burn hotter and long than normal gasoline.
-- Pagan Hunter's Mark - While all Hunters carry marks as a symbol of their jobs, Alexander's is unique as his power is derived less from the blessing of the Holy Father as much as it is from the Old Gods. Such a mark often puts him at odds against other Hunters, especially the more zealous variety.
