I actually prefer low fantasy settings, less weird stuff the better. Majority human casts are easier to empathize with. High fantasy just gets too unruly in an RP setting without a set of rules governing things like magic. The reason I put all the mages in Vicenna was so I could pretty much wipe the slate and make magic rarer than it already was. But make no mistake, this wasn't my endgame. Seeing an entire country get destroyed is more or less a way to tell the players what's at stake. To make them [i]really[/i] fear the consequences.
