[@The Grey Dust] But the lineage is known. It is its own lineage, which has always been around. I guess the very first Magna Pater was simply hatched from the fires of creation? If you want the full history, good luck. Waaaay too many events to even begin describing. I gave it a history, a relevant one that's easy to understand. It lives here, it eats here, everything hates it. What more could possibly be needed? No idea what you mean by "balanced design". I don't recall identifying it as a boss fight. It doesn't play by the rules of other thinking beings. It's a patient killer that bides its time, singling out one victim at a time to personally and intimately antagonise over a long period of time. I say it has a fair bit more to offer than pointless two-bit romances between pretty faced palies that grew up in fine clothes and in fancy castles.
So you are creating a new vampire line, which of itself requires the origin of the line to be made relatively clearer than it just was, is, and will be. You give me 2k years of history, important events happened in that time period in the world, and unless your proposed cosmic horror is inactive all that time, it should have some sort of history. If not a slice of its origin, will suffice and what it has done all this time up to this point. It is a giant monstrous beast vampire that's 14 feet long and about the weight of a tank. And this is its normal state of being, Solider will send in the big guns to kill it. hence, though you do not believe it is a boss fight, unless you can integrate it seamlessly into this rp logically, it will become a boss fight since it is the most powerful thing on the board if accepted as is. Hence, regardless of how you intended it, it makes no sense for us to just let it sit and fester. Ergo, I must ask, since you brought it up, what does it offer the rp? If not the boss fight, how did you intend on playing the character without objectifying it as the common enemy? See the part I don't understand about this character is that there is no room for character growth via character interactions making it rather flat since who wants to interact with something that merely eats things? It has the personality and goals of a singe celled organism. There is no backstory, no higher motivations beyond personal needs, no real reason for it to be considered a non-npc. Unless you can find it one and someone to play along. I mean I suppose you can go the Moby Dick route, but that's between you and your Ahab.
