They do not socialize with their own kind as they are inherently and without fault, tricksters. One Kitsune may trick many people, but a second could spoil the fun. Kitsune’s trickery isn’t linked to poor intentions however. The behavior of a Kitsune is largely up to themselves. As such throughout history Kitsune’s have been seen as either devils or deities. While Kitsune don’t typically hang around one another, in their revealed form they have tails. These tails are an indicator to any who are aware of their power. The number of tails, maxing at 9, should be a sign of relative age, wisdom and power. A typical Kitsune who is approximately 20-30 in Human years and maturity range anywhere from 3-8 tails. The ninth is near impossible to unlock. As such, Kitsune are placed into one of seven categories:

Ichibi – Very Young
Nibi – Young
Sanbi – Learning
Yonbi – Growing
Gobi – Fully Grown
Rokubi – Powerful
Shichibi – Intelligent
Hachibi – Genius
Kyubi – God(des)
Kitsune are strictly gauged in terms of strength based on the number of tails they possess. Any Kitsune simply through survival and age can reach fifth tail, however those that possess true potential may begin to form more. Typically speaking, seeing a Kyubi is akin to seeing god himself whereas seeing a Hachibi is more on the level of a very powerful Angel or Demon. Very rare, but not impossible. Kitsune typically have one or two abilities outside of the norm. Every Kitsune, from birth, is able to take the form of a fox or a human. Their true form – can be learned later one, typically around the age of ten human years. The true form is when a Kitsune appears in their human form with the number of tails they possess. This is their most powerful form and are notably weaker in almost every other form they may learn to take throughout their lives. While any form can be learned to shift into the Kitsune’s mass will never change. Should a Kitsune put time and energy learning how to take the form of a mouse – it will be a mouse that weighs as much as a human. The only exception to this is a Kitsune that devotes almost all of their time learning to shapeshift. This is known as trueshapeshifting and is indicative of a Kitsune who possesses at least five tails. As Kitsune are typically viewed as a loner species, there is no set strategy to dealing with conflicts that may arise. Many Kitsune view themselves as survivors and thusly tend to flee when trouble occurs. There are most certainly, however, Kitsune that pride themselves as warriors. Kitsune are considered weak among shrines, monks and other ornately peaceful and calm things. One with an incredibly calm mind may be able to see through a Kitsune’s disguise in small ways. Such as their eyes not shifting, or perhaps seeing a glimpse of a tail. Kitsune are born, but don't age after the reaching physical maturity. They can be killed. See if it strikes any 'put that shit away' chords with the GM team or any other players.
