At first, it seemed like nobody wanted to help us, heck, even WITH me offering the reward, everyone just sort of went back to their own business, as if it was taboo to leave the city, or something. A few of them even looked at me as if I was a freak, or a monster. Thankfully, they didn't try to attack me, though, a few thieves backed away from me once they figured out that I killed one of those things. Yes, somehow, even thieves weren't interested in helping me with my problem... thieves who were desperate for money didn't want to help me move something back into town for some serious pay. I just finished asking a group of thieves, one of them a neth, another one a nin'tah, and a third an orius, all of whom were just about to try to steal from me, and who all ran off once I mentioned the wurm. That's when I heard someone say that they'll help. Two someones, in fact. They were the rat and the cow from the inn I visited a few moments ago. "Hm? You've changed your mind, then? Great! I was starting to think nobody here wanted the money, or wanted to help me," I gave a sort of cackling laugh, and added "Come on, I know the way... relatively speaking, anyways," I was quickly reminded of how easily I get lost on foot, though, thankfully, I wouldn't have to land until I got there, so that wasn't much of a problem. While I was almost tempted to not tell them my name, I eventually figured that they should probably know if they're going to help, or if I'm going to see them, again "Name's Thorvald, by the way, but most folks around here know me as lightning rod. Thanks for the help, by the way, it's not always a good idea to leave a corpse out in the wilderness... could attract a group of direwolves, or something," I ended up saying to the new guy and... er... girl? The flight there was really peaceful, as the sky was free from any sort of clouds, storm or otherwise. Days like this reminded me of my early years, back when I lived in Sha'varen, where we almost never got stormy weather, and where it was always warm, perfect for flight. I even recalled why, exactly I came all the way to Laharia in the first place... my parents said that the cats there would eat me alive, and I just laughed at that, almost as if I knew it was just some schoolyard rumor made up so we young fledglings don't fly away to more dangerous countries. I ended up... sort of living here since. While I'd visit my home once a year, I spent most of my last thirteen years here, in the land of the cat, and I even built a reputation as an adventurer, one who isn't fazed by the sight of some of the stranger or more disgusting monsters and demons out there, and one who is often found lost in some cave, or flying over a forest, even one who was known to literally laugh in the face of danger, for better or worse. I finally made it back to where we might as well have set up camp by now, looking back to make sure that the two were following me, and saying "Found some help, but... there's only two of them, so we might still have to carry the thing back to town... sorry. I guess people don't like me for some reason," I shrugged at the last part, and noticed that the two of them seemed to be in a foul mood. "Um... something happen while I was gone?" I ask the two of them, hoping that I can find some way to fix it, or at least make it better, whatever it was.
