They had decades of preparation and amassed an army of 10,000 angry dwarves along with hundreds of ships and siegecraft ready to take Geitumo by force. Their chance came in KY1722 when the Kingdom of Stoludi engaged in war with the Melnisc Empire. Whith the bulk of the Kingdom's forces occupied it presented the perfect chance for Zwölfberge to strike. They launched their massive fleet at once, heading straight for Geitumo. They had the perfect chance to perform a sneak attack but honor of the dwarves demanded them to send a letter on their formal declaration of war, even if the message arrived only a day before they could reach their destination. While their attack is well-planned Zwölfberge still expect a tough fight from whatever forces Stoludi can muster against them. And that's how they want it. Also it worths noting that the Dwarven League is only an united force from the outside. In reality this is the combination of twelve individual armies with their own leadership. Commander(s):
Lord of Starkberg, he's a 188 years old veteran thus the natural choice as the Commander in Chief to the Dwarven League. Nearing the death's door Brodmin is no longer as strong or nimble as he he used to be but he's known for his cunning and commanding presence. On the seas he commands Starkberg's flagship the Golthodir.
Army Composition: Total number of forces: 10,000
Unit Details:
Infantry: Zwölfberge has two rather distinct types of infantry, shocktroops and skirmishers. Shocktroops are the more common. They rely on heavy armor and melee weapons. Meanwhile skirmishers have "lighter equipment" (they still wear at least a chain mail) and use the so-called Bolzer (Bolter) which is a derivative of crossbows. Each city state has their own traditions and customs as well as unique units and weapons. The list below only mention the most notable of them. They roam the snowy plains of the outskirts and engage in various games. In battle they're well known for their discipline as they advance as a single heavy unit encased in full armor.

Starkberg's own cavalry unit introduced by Brodmin Sturm. As the dwarven state with the most expansionist tendencies Brodmin soon realized his army had a grave lack of cavalry. While training boar riders could've been adequate Brodim opted for bears. Starkberg had a long history of taming bears as household pets thus using them as cavalry was the most logical step. They began training war bears called Björnbak (which both means bear and bully). These were the mightiest breed of bears trained for aggression as well as war mounts. Björnbakers are bear heavy cavalry encased in plate armor and used for shock attacks. The ferocity of the bears adds a considerable panic factor to the enemy thus the Björnbaker was overall a success.

Grünbergian "light" cavalry riding wild boars to battle. Their equipment is versatile ranging from axes and maces to spears and they almost always also carry light bolters to combat. Outside battle these boar riders are either patrolmen or wandering hunters. Unlike other examples they are no elite and actually make up an increasing portion of Grünberg's army. Rauchenberg also beginning to adopt these.
Artillery: TBA Navy: In native speech called Flusseisernwaffe these seemingly ironclad ships are made of sheets of wrought iron and steel specifically treated to resist corrosion. Dwarven warships lack sails and instead rely on auger-like screws for propulsion, driven by threadwheels and pedaling dwarves.
The most common type of warship. It's low-set sticking only a few meters out of the sea with a sharpened front piercing the waves. Dolchshrauber ships are fast on the sprint only mount a single Bolzwaffe (bolter version of the ballista). The ship is 30 meters long and can carry 150 troops with 2 weeks of supplies. The nose of the ship was heavily reinforced in order to perform ramming attacks.

The turret-boat is a heavier design fitted with an elevated citadel (or tower) in the middle. The citadel serves as observation post and also have small windows for skirmishers to shoot through. The top of the citadel often mounts a Schleuder (Catapult) for siege uses while the deck has enough space for 3 Bolzwaffen for combat. The ship is usually around 45 meters long and extensively used horses and other beasts of burden to lessen the crew's workload. It can carry 500 troops with supplies or cargo equivalent to them. Some ships were equipped with a ram but generally the slowness of the ship made this tactic unlikely.
Other: TBA
