That's the thing, in absence of light, there isn't really anything to manipulate. You could just say that it's a form of light manipulation - but I can't really make sense out of solidifying it. Maybe the teleportation/pocket dimension - but not solidifying it. Even then, the "darkness portal" power's aren't well defined as say Alice's (What are the weaknesses?). The other big thing I noted is that Wei doesn't seem like an original character. It kinda feels like you took Wei Shen from Watch Dogs, gave him a different backstory (With some differences), and threw superpowers on him.
Im going to try and think of ways I can make umbrakinesis make more sense, possible ideas are

Elaborate more on the cloaking/teleporting/pocket dimension whilst completely axing powers of solidification. This would operate under the presumption that cloaking was a light manipulation (manipulating absence of light in this case) and explore darkness portal powers more thoroughly.
In terms of physics, an object is said to be dark when it absorbs photons, causing it to appear dim compared to other objects. For example, a matte black paint does not reflect much visible light and appears dark, whereas white paint reflects much light and appears bright. Therefor manipulation of darkness on a scientific level is a manipulation of photons.
Shadow dimension (?) [this would hinge a little more on paranormal]
As far as the Wei Shen qualm goes; I see where you're coming from. I did take inspiration from Sleeping dogs (as evident by the picture and appearance & name), however changing his backstory kind of seems like a different character to me. I mean isn't that what makes a character; his story? I would not say I copied Wei Shen's character, however I drew inspiration from that cast of characters as I wanted to make a Triad character. For instance, if I was to take away the name and appearance of my character you would not believe my character was Wei Shen. I dunno, just my thoughts.
