@Tulpa Hmm...kind of don't want to touch this with a 40 foot pole. But I will interject with certain things...(God dammit, why is it already back to this topic? This is not the point of the thread. >.<)
Well, people that write books like the SCUM Manifesto. And how violently aggressive many can be, wanting to ban freedom of expression or speech, with hashtags #killallmen. And the like, yes sometimes they can go a touch to far...
The problem is, everyone already does, and there's already laws protecting this very thing. What makes someone a SJW is when you clearly don't seem to realize this. And when
This is constantly being actually said by people who genuinely believe such ridiculous statements, when they also completely ignore the actual oppressive third world countries. There's far too much to explain, than I feel like doing on why that term has become such a joke.
Gamergate did not even start because of sexism, which shows how little many people actually know about it. So it's almost not worth getting into, but I'll briefly clarify. It started because of corruption in games media and they were proven quite right, by how many articles tried to spam how many carbon copy articles about 'gamers' being dead that came out during it. Shit like, Back in 2007, when GameSpot writer Jeff Gerstmann left the site over being fired over the result of pressure from a games publisher over a negative review of Kane & Lynch. It happened all the time, media in games journalism was beyond corrupt. It didn't help when people like Anita spread wildly easily proven false statements, making the games journo's also try to paint everyone who plays games, as sexist. Seeming to ignore the wide variety of people, of races, gender, age, and sexual orientation that played and enjoyed them.
Yes, trolls exist, a shitty fact of life and no one likes getting trolled, but it's the internet and at some point, you do need to grow the hell up and ignore first world problems, you can only let words offend you if you let them. I like people in general, man and women. Because I suppose to could call me an egalitarian. It's a frankly absurd statement to make. Because just because everyone loves animals, that doesn't mean you have to support the kind of lunacy people like PETA spew on a constant basis for desperate needs for attention.
You'd bet wrong, popular people that criticize and produce whole series why modern feminism has gone wrong, has and read a bunch of feminist novels. People like Sargon of Akkad on YouTube. Which is another reason, why I don't want to get in this debate when others have already done most of the work. I'd rather not get into this AGAIN.
You're on the internet...and as terrible as you think it might be, most people on here aren't trolls. And are AT LEAST socially liberal. (including myself.) If not left leaning politically. So, creativity has honestly nothing to do with it. But I do think this site has plenty of wonderful people on it. But, I just think topics like this are better left undiscussed because it frankly is already been talked about to death.
