Charlotte scrabbled into the backseat of the car, needing little urging as her rescuer told her to lie down, bullets occasionally whizzing overhead or pinging into the metalwork of the truck as the Blood Army continued to advance towards them. Lifting her head slightly she peeked from where she was hidden and witnessed several of their attackers crumple to the ground as a distant shots rang out. Following the gaze of the other two she spotted the distant shape and glint of a sniper covering them from a rooftop, each shot they fired found its mark with precision as yet another man thudded to the ground with a gaping hole in his neck. Moments later the attacking enemies had changed their route, now moving towards the building that contained the sniper. Her heart pounding in her chest Charlotte watched as the sniper leapt from the rooftop and slid down a zipwire heading directly towards them. Her mouth slightly agape in awe Charlotte realised that this saviour of theirs was a woman, motioning for them to drive as she hurtled towards them. Turning her attention back to her companions she watched as the one eyed man coolly kept watch, seemingly undisturbed by the chaos around them. The other guy however seemed to be trying to hotwire the truck, but she could see that his hands were shaking and he was muttering to himself as he did so. Taking a few moments Charlotte hesitated briefly at the situation unfolding as the sniper woman thudded onto their roof. "Fucking drive asshole” she shouted, and it was in that moment that Charlotte chose to act. Sitting up she leaned forwards from the backseat and flipped down the sun visor above the driver’s side and she grinned slightly as the keys to the truck slipped out and landed in her hands with a satisfying clinking noise. She dropped the keys into Jake’s hand the moment that there was a shatteringly loud explosion from the building that until moments ago their sniper friend had been stationed on. She glanced backwards and stared at the devastation as huge chunks of concrete and debris tumbled down and a big cloud of dust began to spread.
