Indeed [@Inkdrop], I imagine the West Arctic Federacy would provide some semblance of political protection in the arctic ocean, but once you enter the bering strait Cascadia would be waiting to intercept you.

A note on the WAF though, they are a very poor nation (Cascadia took their most populous and developed land 60-70 years ago) and would be unable to protect your vessels militarily, though they would certainly try to ensure the lives of your crew against execution which is common Cascadian practice for enemy abhumans.

It's hard to say, the HT-100 seems like it would be a bit slower and less maneuverable but I imagine it would have greater frontal armour and (potentially) a larger gun with it's 125mm high velocity cannon.
