It was getting late, the streets were nearly empty and the sun already long set. The quiet settled in, waiting for midnight to break out in a flurry of action. A lone figure treaded, cautiously looking over her shoulder at every corner, watching the sidewalk beneath her feet otherwise. She could feel someone watching her, sending tingles of dread up her spine. She couldn't be any later getting home then she already was, but the feeling that someone was following her through her off balance. She took odd turns, a different route than she normally would.

A sudden stop, a strangers approach, a snide smirk and a step backward. Clouded grey eyes watched the stranger walking toward her, noting the strange curve of his ears and the points of his teeth. She had to be seeing things if something like that was walking up to her. She took another step back, tripping over a crack in the sidewalk.

The man acted fast, darting forward towards the girl as she stepped backwards, tripping over a crack in the sidewalk tumbling down towards the ground and grabbing her tender arm delicately as if it were made of glass and pulled her dight side up on her feet. The man's lips cracked open into a smirk, reavaling his pure white fangs that shone under the dim of the moon's light. The man looked at the girl with an expression of mild excitment, curiosity and just a and just a slight hint of lust that would send shivers down most anyone's spine. "Careful, It's a dangerous so world" The man whispered, though loud ebough for her to hear. His voice was soft and soothing, like his words could be trusted, giving off an intoxicating feel that made a yearning to know more.

The man the patted the girl softly on the shoulder, his hand delicately dancinv over her skin as he started to walk past her back to his own alure of darkness that he had originally came from.

It was not the image before her, or the fact that she was falling that alarmed her the most; it was the arm that wrapped around her slender form. Fingers grasped her arm, another hand on her hip, cushioning her until she was almost leaning back against the one who had stopped her from falling. Being touched by a stranger, no matter how good the intentions are, sent a spasmodic shiver down her spine. His grip was too strong and his ability to lift her so easily too much for her to not assume a man. The lack of breasts against her back just another clue. The grip on her arm loosened, fingers trailing along her arm, raising goosebumps along the way. She wished she'd worn a sweater right then, as the air seemed to drop in temperature as her body started to heat up.

The moment she was free she turned to look at who it was that was leaning toward her, whispering just loud enough for her to hear. Her eyes wide, pupils taking over her irises, growing in size from fear and shock, though a sensation of curiosity began to settle in her bone as he spoke. A shiver ran up her spine, dragging the cold with it until it reached the base of her neck. She found her body relaxing slightly, though still tense and ready to run from her own pure instinct. Regardless of how loud her body was screaming at her to run, she didn't move from her spot, watching the man as her touched her shoulder again, his fingers lighting up her shoulder. Heat rose to her skin then, surely a spot of red on her cheeks, giving her pale palour some colour. He was nearly out of reach, seeming to go back into the shadows beyond the lamp post. A last second response, a near miss and a gasp later.

She was holding his hand.

In hers.

"Holy shit."

The blonde immediately let go, pulling away embarrassed but still determined to say her piece, even if it was short, boring or he laughed her her. "Why did you catch me? Where did you even come from?! I was watching and you weren't there and suddenly you were! There's my alleyway, here, and I should have seen your shadow and-" She smacked a hand over her mouth, stopping her rambling tangent before she said anything really embarrassing. She'd stopped a total stranger who had probably just been passing by and doing her a favour. "But those fangs. . . " Her mumbles were mixed with many apologies as she bowed her head, too afraid to look the man in the face.

The man couldn't help let a small little smile play onto his lips as the girl had reached out for him just before he disappeared into the shadows once again. Grabbing tightly onto his hand, a grip full of mystery about this stranger that had saved him, and even more so, the way that this complete stranger had made her feel so weird. Not even a moment later the man had heard her quickly realize what she had done with 2 quick words before she pulled back away looking away from her, but still close to him and look back up at him with determination in her eyes, refusing to back down and saying what she wanted to say, and know no matter what. The man turned to face the girl as she looked up at him, ready to ask all about all the mysteries that she had about this stranger she has only seen for the first time.

The girl started mumbling out questions left and right before clamping a hand down over her mouth to stop the incessant rambling , not knowing what to say or any of the answers, or if he himself never knew the answers. The girl than looked up at him, apologizing profusely while still mumbling a few words, lost into her own mind of questions. The man took a careful step forward towards the girl and gingerly placed a finger over her lips to stop the endless barrage of apologizes. "I told you my dear, it's a dangerous world" Once again with a soft, velvety, intoxicating voice that made you couldn't get enough of, like a bad addiction you just couldn't break away from.

The man took a step backwards again, pivoting around abruptly, his cloak only mere inches from whipping the girl in her beautiful face. "Follow me if you wish to know" The man replied, his voice full of mystery, like a puzzle that you had to solve, before vanishing into the darkness, only the billowing of his cloak in the night time breeze just barely being visible.

This may perhaps had been the strangest of things to happen to the girl on her way home, or that had ever happened to her in her life. The man had spoken again, though as he melted back into the shadows, and she nearly stepped forward, she realized what it was that she was about to do. Follow a stranger? No chance in Hell was she that stupid. Shaking her head to clear her mind she watched until she was sure that the man was gone, no sign of him around her. "He's gone." She told herself, trying to convince her nerves that there was no one nearby, no eyes watching her. A deep breath, a moment of silence, and she was off walking again.

Less willing to be out in the dark longer than she had to be, she took a glance at the street, making sure there was no one driving in her direction before she cut across, heading for a larger park just down the block. She could cut through it to shorten her walk home, assuming there was no one there that she would need to avoid. As she reached the park she didn't see anyone, shoving her hands in her jean pockets to warm up her freezing fingers she continued her walk. Old sneakers barely managed to keep out the damp of the afternoons rain and dew beginning to collect on each blade of grass. "Fuck it's cold." She shivered slightly, her strides growing longer as she hurried on her way home. It was still halfway across town from this park, thanks to her detours at trying to rid herself of the eyes watching her.

When she thought about it though, she would rather be out late to look at the stars, hoping that her uncle would be asleep by the time she returned to the house. She would be in trouble, but not as much as if she had been living with her father still.

The man had continued to walk into the darkness step by step until he was completely engulfed in it and completely out of the view of the girl that was just smart enough to not follow the stranger into the absolute darkness. The man disappeared into the darkness listening closely for the sound of any following footsteps behind him, but not a single sound was heard besides his own foot steps crunching softly against the gravely road. The man let a small frown quickly come across his face before he let it wash away, replaced by a cold hard smirk, It's not like the girl had gotten away from him or anything, she never would.

Turning quickly on a point the man just caught sight of the girl, hurriedly scurrying across the road into a nearby park, more than likely because of a feel of unease she had about there encounter and the imminent thought that the darkness was all around. That she didn't know what it could be hiding. The man looked around, his eyes scanning the area, finding something he could climb on or walk across the discreetly and silently creep upon the girl, as just tailing her normally wouldn't work with the state of alertness her body was in. In less than a minutes time the man spotted a large pipe with some gashes in that ran up the side of an abandoned building and up-to the roof top. The man quickly scaled the building grabbing onto the gashes and kicking off the steel to boost himself up even higher. Once the man had reached the top he began quickly and silently jumping across buildings to cross the street that the girl had and the follow along the edges of the park, making sure to stay on his toes to make the least bit of sound possible, carefully staying a a distance where he could see the girl and she be immersed in the shadows of the night.

The man very well knew exactly where the girl lived and could easily get to her house before he and wait there, the much easier path, but he preferred tailing her. It made it easier to keep an eye on her if she decided to take a detour or not go home at all, it also meant that he got to look at her even more. There was also the chance she could get hurt, which of course is when he would have to step in to make sure she was ok, other than that, he never approached her. But for some reason he let himself he seen today, and almost invited her into the darkness with him. He couldn't wrap his head around what was so special about having her now, he had waiting plenty long and he had planned to wait more. The only possibility he could think of was his body instinctively going after her so as she had all 3 characteristics needed to be his mate. He was planning on waiting but the man wanted her now.

The man swooped down off the building closest to the park, landing softly on the ever so wet grass, landing perfectly on his feet and already mid walk towards the girl that was already almost completely through her the park, which would mean only a few more minutes till she reached the safe haven that was her house, A place he hadn't dared to venture inside of. But if he had to tonight, he would. He was determined to get her tonight whatever it took, there was no stopping him now. He gained close and closer on her, his cape billowing in the wind as he made long, heavy strides to catch up with her as quickly as possible, he didn't want to have to wait even one more minute and it was driving him crazy.
