Zero enjoyed the structure of his day to day life at the academy base of Solaire. He especially liked learning the martial arts. His small dense form seemed to assist him in the few grappling techniques they learned, his stature counted against him with his compatriots so far as reach for a punch or kick, but growing up in the high-gravity environment of Fortress made his body more durable then most. In short, he could take the abuse better then anyone else. Star-Fist was not a good fit for Zim, but he learned it, and intended to employ its practices and techniques into his piloting where he could, and Black Star being a melee frame, he certainly could. Zim didn't even mind the long lectures by Lorenzo, while many of the more technical details were lost on him he still found it interesting. It is true that Zim had worked on a terraforming team, using extremely sensitive and advanced equipment, but Fleck had taught him 'You don't need to know how it works, just that it does and how to work it. Leave knowing how it works to the engineers and technicians that fix it.' As long as Zim knew how to make it do what it was supposed to do, he didn't particularly care how it did what it was supposed to do. Many aspects of Black Star were designed with the capacity to incapacitate his opponents. Both of his weapons were designed to attack isolated aspects of a machine, from weapons, to power supplies, to sensory equipment. So when he was told that despite their best efforts they had never managed to capture a particular type, Zim felt that it was assigned to him, as a personal mission, that he should do that whenever possible, especially any time they come across anything new. However, Zim would clarify this with the mission heads before proceeding of course. With the lecture finished for the day, Zim was looking forward to heading back to the Simulators. Roger would probably want to spend more time in the sims again, as they had spent much of their free time of late, when suddenly the alarm started blaring. He looked around for a moment, his brow furrowed, until Lorenzo snapped his attention back to him, as soon as the words were out of his mouth he charged the door and made his way to the briefing hall with all due haste falling in with the others as they arrived.
