Really? Considering my opening post had a hostage and robbery at a downtown bank I thought it would be the same bank.

Well Supergirl solved all of the Atom restraining devices and such, iirc in my last post. Still have the kryptonite man to deal with though.

Gowi is right so once we get him out of the way it's pretty well over...except for the aftermath.

We can always have Atom deal with Kryptonite man and buy Superman time to recover and for him to come up with an idea (Bank Vault doors make a pretty effective barrier against Kryptonite).

As I said in the other threads, I'm battling a severe lack of inspiration for superhero settings that I am trying to fix. I owe you guys that much as a GM.

It's not just you Gowi...we have all these players and no one has submitted anything in a week...that's not a good sign. It shouldn't have to count on just one person.

Yeah, but it is my job as GM to keep everything well-oiled, like I should have gotten decisions on the apps days ago. Which brings me to this:

Hillan and Stein - as since Ben left the roleplay I've been expecting more out of applications, I'd like to see more detail (or words in general) in the samples presented; as they stand it makes me believe that the applications are for a casual game and not a dedicated advanced one. I do think Zauriel is an odd choice and I would be watching the character (due to the effects he'd have on the world's mythology and supernatural side of events). As for Jason Todd, I think the choices for getting him out of Bludhaven's foster care seem a bit forced, but outside of that there's nothing really to be expanded upon. Just give me more of an idea of what you're doing with the character and a bigger sample.

Things have been slow in all of the 'Ultimate' games the past two weeks, but none are dying. A week without a post isn't a terribly long time. Really, if you want to keep the IC fresh, then you need to keep the OOC active. Increased OOC activity usually generates (semi-)frequent IC posts.

My sample is of advanced standard. And you have seen me in action, I'm more than qualified for the game. As for Jason getting out of foster care being forced, well, I can't say it's my most natural way to bend a backstory to my will, but I think it got the job done rather neatly.

Point is, I'm not gonna provide a bigger sample post till I see that the game is actually gonna move forward. If you wanna keep me on standby till I do, that's fine.
Cheers, and best of luck with beating the mean bitch that's writers block.

Well, I've never been a believer that quantity automatically means quality, so besides word count, what is it lacking in?

Let's kick this back up to eleven, guys!
(This is a sample post, guise!)

The Chemotech Industrial Plant
Distribution floor B

"You made a big mistake coming here, Hero! A big mistake! Just turn back and leave. Leave before I lose it with you."

"Boss, I see hi--"

THWIPPP!

A sharp clang resonates from the corner of the large room. The large metal box these criminals had taken refuge in was beginning to inspire claustrophobia in a few of the underlings and, to their employer's chagrin, many restless trigger-fingers. On their master's orders, a few of the gunmen jump down from a walkway and check around the source of the commotion. Their fleeting search brings up no further clues. The more confident of the trio attempts to settle the conflict.

"There's nothing down here, Sir. Something must have fell or somethi--"

"Wha--!"

"--Ughh!"

The three are silenced in quick succession. A worrying display for the engineer of this heist.

"What's going on down there?! Get me eyes on the ground!"

"You heard the Boss. Move!", an over-zealous conspirator chimes. Before he can take a breath however, he disappears. Scattered into the ether with a piercing and ever fading yelp. This much is seen by an assembly of four a few feet away.

"He just vanished Boss!"

"Shit..."

"Oh Christ! What if it's the Bat!"

"Pull yourselves together! You girls are armed to the teeth. You're killers! Straight up. You outnumber whoever the hell this is eight to one. You can easily handle whoever this cape is. Suck it up!"

"I didn't sign up for this! I'm out!"

"Oh-fa-Christ's... Get out of here then!"

THWIII-THWIIPPP!

"Two men down Boss!"

"Shoot something!!"

THWIPPP!

"Wicks is gone! Th-there's no-one here, Sir. No body or nuthin'! I coulda swore I coul--"

CRAASHH!!!

The fallen man, having smashed into a number of barrels, signals a position to the others. Converging at an adjacent corner, the remaining four aim their automatic guns blindly through the narrow space made by the towering shelves. Rather than ripping the wall to pieces as expected though, the bullets seemingly go straight through it, or disappear altogether. There wasn't a sound made to indicate that they had hit anything at all. One man stops to examine the barrel of his gun. Upon raising his head however, he sees none of the original group. Not a soul.

"Hey buddy! Did you lose these?" can be heard softly from the walkway above, pre-emptive of a visceral scream that cuts at the darkness. The mastermind of the situation comes to the realisation that he is the last man standing. He was getting out of there now. Turning to run, he's stopped by the appearance of a single man.

"Burn!!" He shouts in retaliation, firing up his flame-thrower and letting it loose against the unknown assailant. "Burn?!" He stops. The image was gone, perhaps only an after image of the crusader in red. He turns to a fist flying towards his jaw, unimpeded by the laws of physics and of men. With a limp clod, the armoured criminal, Heatwave fell to the floor, out cold.

"Take some time to cool-off," laughed The Flash. "Now, let's clean this up..."

THWIPPP!

My character is at a stand still...The Atom is slowly suffering from the Kryptonite as well and waiting for either Superman or Supergirl to help her.
