Well, i remember when i played dark heresy and rocked a heavy flak vest and a mono-greatweapon. Cleft a hardy mutant in twain with a single strike. I tossed together a regiment, or more like a skitarii cohort.
Skitarii cohort epsilon. Forge world Korutine. cost 4. Commander. Phelgmatic. 1. Siege infantry. 2. Close order drill. 2 (3 unused points adding 6 to equipment.) Special weapons. Flamer, meltagun. Light carapace standard issue armour. 15. Hot-shot lasgun (Hellgun). 15. Melee attachments mounted on Hellguns. 3. Flame retardant long coats of plentiful rarity. 3. (Couldn't find any costs for it, so i just made it up, they don't help much.) The regiment answers to the adeptus mechanicus and by its extension the Magi of forge world Korutine. The troops are given excellent equipment and used as a super heavy siege infantry when the Magi find it suitable. Otherwise they focus on defending Korutine itself. While the regiment seldom leave Korutine, specialists and or enginseers sometimes are dispatched to assist imperial forces. The regiment is supported by the full industrial might of Korutine, and have a ready supply of vehicles and support from the adeptus mechanicus. The troops are usually brainwashed with or without drugs to resist fear, at times sections of the cohort have been fitted with neural inhibitor chips to basically remove fear, at the cost of having troopers more akin to servitors than men. The regiment itself is not stationed on the current planet, but might assist if the imperium call for their aid.
Thoughts? Also, i've been putting together a character sheet. Question, is it just me that find it silly that the techpriest starts with a staff but not with the melee weapon training talent, but he starts with the power weapon talent but can't reasonably get a power weapon at start?... Also, i don't know how to get my weapon i want. Since a scarce thing is at -20 ish on this front.... That is i have to roll less than -20 on a D100 to get it. Also, the ohmnissian axe just for fun is about -70 on logistics on this front. Could i downgrade my shooting weapon to a pistol and toss the beginning staff to get a Mono great weapon? I just find it odd that the techpriest has exactly the same gear as a guardsman, he isn't a guardsman, not even by a long shot.
