[@The Kid Lantern]It's not like the constructs are living? lol But he can't imagine another pilot to take the dead pilot's place. Because that isn't even realistic and the things he imagines are realistic. So if the pilot dies, he dies, and the helicopter goes down. He doesn't completely understand his powers. The STRIKE force just had him build on what he knows he can do and gave him a specific theme to stick with so he doesn't go crazy with his imagination creating things outside that theme because then that would make him dangerous. The Dog Tags are a construct. It's like how the human mind will defensively repress a bad memory. He made those to keep himself in check. So when they are removed, he is depowered to an average human because that is just what happens. Because he accepts that is the result when they are removed. If he stops accepting it and goes against it, then he is basically telling himself, my imagination is without limit. It's no different when a superhuman with superstrength holds back. He still has ridiculous super strength but he holds back for whatever reason morals, religion, ethics, etc. I didn't mention any other weaknesses because I thought it was self-explanatory. If I didn't say he was resistant to bullets, then he isn't (unless he's wearing kevlar or sitting in a tank). I only mentioned the things worth mentioning.
