Ricardo tore his eyes away from the memory. He could stay here watching this entire day unfold. He could watch years unfold. But eventually, he would reach the point where she lies to him, cheats on him the first month they graduate high school. He would have to watch himself spiral out of control as he developed a horrible drinking problem in college. No, this was a story that Ricardo already knew. He couldn't re-live it anymore. Moving on from the window pane, he tried to focus more on the path before him. He walked for what seemed like hours, ignoring the windows as best he could. Eventually he reached a white door. As he opened the door and stepped through, he was greeted by another white room. In the center of the room stood the little girl from before. Ricardo wondered for a minute if she had to go through torture as brutal as his own. But this thought didn't last long. He felt ashamed when he realized that his heart was hardened past the point of actually caring. Maybe he would soften again one day, but not today. He then took note of the rest of the room. Doors lined three of the walls. While one contained two archways: "To Safety" / "To the Truth". How stupid, he thought. After all they had put him through, they actually expected him to turn back. No, he hadn't suffered this damn much just to give up. Looking over to the little girl, he asked, "I'm going through there." signaling to the pain filled hallway with one absent minded finger. "How about you?"
