Personality: Mushuro can be headstrong and stubborn, especially when it comes to his dream of being the strongest person in the world, ninja or pirate. He's also rather naive about how things in the world actually work due to being raised within his incredibly secretive ninja clan, despite his brimming confidence at being out and free of them for the moment. The small ninja has a surprising amount of tact and intelligence when he actually bothers to think, but he loves over-dramatic entrances and trying to seem awesome and cool and usually disregards his life of training in stealth and assassination because he thinks doing things sneakily is 'not the true pirate way'. Mushuro also treasures friendship, having never had any real friends before running away from home. Around friends he can sometimes act out in ways that are childish, spoiled or crybaby-like even for a child, mainly because he hadn't had a chance to do so with his actual family.

Biography: Mushuro belongs to the Hattori clan, a large group of highly skilled and secretive ninjas. Like all those of his clan, he was trained nearly from birth to be the perfect spy and assassin, often rather harshly. His life was lonely and he couldn't see very much of a future in it aside from following his family's wishes. Worse yet his life was also filled with danger, as Mushuro was subjected to constant assassination attempts not just by members of rival clans but also by his own family members as a constant reminder to keep sharp and stay vigilant. Mushuro felt completely trapped, both physically and emotionally.

All of that changed during yet another assassination attempt while Mushuro was being tasked to buy groceries, as the boy was rescued by a passing pirate rather than having to deal with his attackers himself. Mushuro was initially upset at someone interfering with his test and potentially giving his family a reason to punish him, then somehow found himself unloading all of his troubles on the pirate who'd saved him in his ensuing rant. The pirate grinned at Mushuro and told him that if things were that bad he should just become a pirate and live free on the open sea, then left the young boy standing there, dumbstruck. 

From that day on, Mushuro dreamed of becoming a pirate and escaping his harsh family and destiny as a ninja, a dream his family despised. Finally during a lecture about how he needed to give up on becoming a pirate that went on at length about how foolish pirates are and how Mushuro would never survive or achieve true strength that way, he snapped and declared that he'd show all of them by becoming the strongest person in the world, ninja or pirate. For the outburst during an official reprimand he was sent to his room, but by then he'd already made up his mind. He sneaked out and stole his family's ancestral swords, Sarutobi and Saizo, taking them along for protection and as a final raspberry to his family, then set out for the open sea to live his dream as a pirate and show his family he can be strong no matter what path in life he chooses.
