[indent][indent]Unlike a lot of the native Firebenders, Hikari is often seen as calm and collected. She is very soft-spoken, and will refrain from getting into conflict with others.[/indent][/indent]

[indent][indent]When Hikari was 8, her mother took off with no explanation. Hikari was too young to see any signs of her mother's discontent, but she just had enough and up and left. For years, Hikari would blame herself for her mother leaving. Her father handled it much better, and had eventually managed to help Hikari understand exactly what had happened, and how it wasn't her fault. She slowly realized that she couldn't have stopped her mother, no matter how hard she wished. 
At the age of 16, Hikari and her father moved to Republic City. The war between the Avatar and the extremists had expanded to their rural town, leaving it in ruins, so they sought refuge in the city. Once in the city, Hikari joined a recreational Pro-bending team, the Sand Sharks. She lived the first two years of her time in Republic City in relative safety, but with the Avatar now gone, no one is safe.[/indent][/indent]
