@FantasyChic
I would love to like horror games, but I'm too much of a bitch to play them lol. Mass Effect 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, man that game was so good. I don't know that I can name a favourite RPG series really. Persona, Tales of, Final Fantasy, Witcher, and Mass Effect are some of my favorites. Persona 4 is close to the top though, while Witcher 3 is one of the best games I've ever played in general.

I do play COD, but sparingly.

@Oxenfree
Bioshock Infinite was pretty enjoyable to me. Good story. I've been playing Souls 3, but slowly. Bloodborne is my favorite souls like game so I'm hoping we get a sequel to that.

@icmasticc Honestly, I think we might have gotten a sequel to Bloodborne: it's called Dark Souls 3. Like, the story is all Dark Souls, but with the reduced emphasis on armor stats, the stance system, the removal of poise, the gutting of magic, the emphasis on fast combat and stunlocking as well as all the gothic architecture and cathedrals and stuff... it's pretty Bloodborney, in good and bad ways.

You have a point. I'm more speaking to the aesthetic. I much prefer the dark Fantasy visual style and atmosphere of Bloodborne versus the medieval tragedy of Souls. A minor thing really lol. I miss the gun and back and side step too versus the panic roll lol.

@icmasticc Oh I LOVE the Tales games. The recent one isn't that good, but the one coming next looks awesome. I loved Tales of Xillia and Tales of Symphonia was one of my favorites.

Zestiria is indeed some crap, but we are kindred spirits; Tales of Xillia is my absolute favorite. I loved every second of that damn game. I only played the Jude route, but I did all the post game stuff and stayed over leveled all the way through lol. Great combat system, geez. It made it that much more painful that Zestiria sucked.

Berseria looks damn great too. I'm excited for that one, I Amy even go PC for it.

@icmasticc lol I went the Milla route. One of the reasons I like Besteria is that it's the first game with a lone female lead role, as opposed to the choice.

I did Jude only for the hand to hand style lol. I love hand to hand combat. I like Berseria's lead character too. She looks badass.

I'm so late to this conversation but...

I couldn't ever buy into the Last of Us or Uncharted, honestly. I am slightly interested in UC4 though. xD

Sigh... The Last of Us is my absolute favorite game ever in the history of my entire being. I have it incorporated into a thigh tattoo that I have hahaha. But I think the reason I love it so much is that I'm just so incredibly into that genre of story, so I understand. But yes I can't wait until UC4, it's gonna kick my ass and my body is so ready omg.

You're not the only one. I wouldn't say Last of Us is my favorite game of all time, but it's definitely one of my favorite games of all time. The story really was that good. That's why I have so much faith in UC4 - it's directed by the Last of Us guys.

I enjoyed Beyond Two Souls. Thought that story was pretty good. And as cringe worthy as it was, Heavy Rain was pretty good too. Could have been better had they not trumped up the story so much.

A lot of people love that game, if for nothing more than the story, so you're far from alone in that. xD

I think the character interactions in TLoU are excellent, and while Naughty Dog tells a story that's been told before, they do it in a unique way that's compelling. I just wouldn't be able get through it because I think the game play would bore me. xD

Glad somebody besides myself liked both of those games, only I'm the opposite. I feel like Heavy Rain had the far better story and Beyond Two Souls had the far better gameplay. I think Heavy Rain left an impact on me because I didn't see the plot twist coming. Like, it legit caught me off guard and maybe that's shameful to admit lol. That was also the first time I'd played a game like that so it was memorable. While the story in Beyond didn't live up to my expectations, the gameplay was a lot better than heavy rain. I enjoyed playing it whereas I enjoyed watching Heavy Rain more than the gameplay segments.

@Viciousmarrow
Although I disagree, I can actually see where you're coming from. I had friends that said the same thing so they watched it and enjoyed it, but hated the look of the gameplay. I, for one, loved the emphasis on brutal melee combat so I tried not use guns whenever I could. It just felt so right for the world of the game. In the end though, I appreciate Naughty Dog for their characterizations and story above their gameplay lol. I wouldn't say they've revolutionized gameplay with either Last of Us or Uncharted to be honest.

Heavy Rain was awesome, and not just because it had some of the most hilarious glitches. xD

@icmasticc I think they tried too hard with that plot twist to be frank. I didn't see it coming, but when it happened I wasn't like "OH MY GOD" I was more like "Oh, it's you...hmm."

I also enjoy the Telltale games. Episodic games are some of my favorites. Like Life Is Strange? Loved the heck out of that game.

I guess I was just so caught up in the role he was pretending to be that it never occurred to me that it could be fake. It was also one of the first PS3 games I got (I got a PS3 late) so that may have had something to do with it. Everything I was playing back then was blowing my mind lol.

Telltale is awesome as well. My favorite of theirs is Tales of the Borderlands, but I haven't finished Life is Strange yet (though that was done by Dotnod, not Telltale).

Ooh, LOVED that game. I didn't play it myself because I didn't nab it right when it came out, so everyone was already putting up videos of it. I did watch a few Let's Plays of it to see the different decisions that went down. Great game, and honestly I'd love episodic games too. The wait just kills me sometimes haha.

Also, sorry about your computer screen! I've never broken a screen before, but I can only imagine how sad I'd get about it. -promptly knocks on wood-

Also also, story wise = Heavy Rain > Beyond Two Souls, but gameplay = Beyond > Heavy Rain.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Apologies for being absent in the OOC, it's been a really crazy and busy end of the week for me!

I have yet to play a lot of the games everyones been talking about, but I've been slowly building up my steam list! Unfortunately I don't have a console, or a gaming pc (yet), so I usually watch walkthroughs and letsplays to satisfy my need to play/watch new games. I try to go with whatever my mac can handle, so I play a little too much minecraft during my spare time, but recently I got Tales From The Borderlands and the Claptastic Voyage DLC for BL Pre-Sequel, so I'm looking forward to starting and finishing those. I got caught up in the hype of Undertale a few months ago too, such a great game!

Computer screen just cracked. Going to get it repaired tomorrow.

That sucks! I feel your pain though, I lost my PC that way. :(

Definitely play Tales of the Borderlands first. It was so shockingly great, I loved it.
