Things like several hour sessions of straightening hair, dying it and properly applying makeup so that it looks *just right.* She’s quite fond of changing up her hairstyle often and feels like if she just keeps one style for too long it gets stale. In her wardrobe, Mauriah utilizes a lot of contrasting color schemes and visual textures that make everything “pop.” 

One thing she avoids is showing off a lot of skin, or much skin at all. Whenever possible she has on long sleeves and pants that may or may not be a bit too big on her and obscures her body shape. This isn’t for any particularly moral, political or religious reason. She just likes bigger things and doesn’t think overly revealing clothing looks good on her.

She would stick to her interests/studies/work and avoid getting too close to people for fear of getting hurt. But as she’s grown older, and after the divorce she’s opened up at least superficially to more people around her. However, she’s a lot more brash and hurtful to those around her, even if unintentionally.

She acts like things said to her don’t affect her, but she usually ends up overthinking even throw-away lines long after the utterer of the words have forgotten that they said something in the first place. She knows this is a problem, but despite this, she can’t stop herself from using these things to self-criticize. For Mauriah, this trip is more than just a chance to maybe find a serious relationship for the first time in years, but a way to potentially escape her issues and the drama of the outside world for once.

[b][color=d60f74]History:[/color][/b] Mauriah is actually Maurice’s sister, his twin sister in fact. They lived together with their single mother Deja in Hamilton Park, a lower class suburban neighborhood in Dallas right next to the Texas Instruments (well known for their high quality graphing calculators used in many schools public and private around Texas) campus. 

In school, Mauriah and Maurice were able to more or less completely disassociate from one another despite being the same age. They didn’t look identical so their status as twins was not much of an issue, they hung out in different social groups, Maurice was athletic, Mauriah was able to take Advanced classes, everything kind of evened out.

After graduation, Mauriah went on to marry her highschool sweetheart Darnell Norris, a decision that would result in two tumultuous years of fights and destruction that would end in a messy divorce and moving out of state. Now single for the first time in 5 years and free to do as she pleased, Mauriah decided it was time to take up some higher education. Attending University of Virginia, Mauriah graduated in the class of 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.

Since then, Mauriah’s gone on to work on a lot of urban and suburban development in Virginia while keeping up with the family back in Texas through social media. Since her divorce, Mauriah hasn’t been in a single relationship that’s exceeded a maximum length of 4 months. In a couple years she’s going to hit the big Three-O and it’s about time she finally got over Darnell. She’s between projects, why not spoil herself and go on a vacation?
