I watched in silence, in the back of the classroom as already two students made their contract. I gulped, nervous and self conscience on over what will my own contract be like, would I mess up, or how much will it hurt? After the second student finishes, I decided I might as well get it over with. 'I came to this school to be a summoner, I have the magic within me, I know I can do this' are the thoughts that raced in my head as I would move up through the classroom and would get to the front. And unlit candle and a box of matches in my hands. "My name is Drake Sigurd, and I wish to be a dracomancer." I said, taking a bow. My voice was soft and shy like, stuttering a bit as well. I would draw a magic circle on the ground with some chalk, then, taking out a match from the box, I'd light it and would begin the ritual, setting the still unlit candle down in the center of the circle as I would kneel in front of it. I took a match from the match box and lit it. "I, Drake Sigurd, call upon the ancient contracts of the past to summon thee, please, heed my call." I'd use the burning match to ignite the candle, quickly putting out the match after. "Come, Fire elemental." My voice seemed to trail in synch with the flickering fire as the flames of the candle started to rise. My eyes turned wide as the growing mass of flames turned into a ghastly figure of a reptile, and shortly afterwards fire became scales. The fire dimmed and circled around the rat sized dragon that had coiled its upper half of its torso on the top of the large candle. 'I hear you, why have you awakened me.' The voice growled in my head, if there were no words I could have sworn as I listening to a raging inferno. "In accordance to the ancient rituals, I, Drake Sigurd, which is my real name, have summoned thee to form a contract. I have revealed my true name, what is yours?" The snake-like eyes of the small dragon seemed to reflect the flames burning beneath it, as if there was a fire within his own pupils. I was at first mesmerized by this until memories flashed before me, the toxic smell of smoke as I recall being stuck in a house fire. I would wince, my skin felt like it was smoldering in burning fumes. Had I not been prepared I would have rolled about and tried to pat myself off. The memory faded right after I heard the voice of my father pulling me put the room. "My name is Kilgarrah, You best not dissapoint me, Drake Sigurd." I could still feel the afterpain of burning, despite no wounds on my body. However I kept a straight face, not wanting to seem weak in front of my summon. "We are one as the ancient contract decrees." "Our souls are one. I am Kilgarrah." "And I am Drake Sigurd." The flames would rise, consuming us both though the fire did not cause any harm, our spiritual energies flowing through the fires until it reached the top of the flames, and merged together. The flames would then disperse, my summon vanishing, leaving me with a burned out candle. The moment the summon left the magic circle seemed to burn away as if it was paper, rather quickly, and I would fall on my back, my eyes were briefly white. I'd get up, patting my skin as if I was on fire, the pain had finally left me and I would stumble to my feet. I looked at the rest of the class and looked as if I was embarrassed, and would walk back to my seat at the very back of the classroom.
