That was actually what I was going to do....
Sorry...DX Which part were you going to do?
[@Framing A Moose] well if using other examples of the elemental planes as anything then it is separated into sections, each section basically being a concentrated form of it's element. like the air/wind section is nothing but sky and a few floating islands in the sky. the fire is like a sea of flames, etc.. etc.. so (shrugs) that's just taking examples from other things that have the elemental planes, and I don't have a complete set up for the one in this rp just yet. Their true name is given to them upon birth/creation so I'm unsure there and they have to reveal their true names, which even if they don't know it normally can be an instinctive thing (so could have even if she says it she doesn't remember it herself), in order to show full trust and open themselves fully for the contract. True name is different from simply a name they could just go by. it's a more deeper meaning than that.
One could argue that by giving a nameless summon a name, it creates a bond just as tight, maybe even tighter, than just sharing a pre-given name. As for your second point, my character's summon is going to be no older than seven, so she most likely doesn't have any deep meaning. Please let me do this! I'be been planning this since I first created my character! >_>
