Her sniffles were both sad and adorable. It should be illegal for her to be so darn cute whenever she does anything. Then, he asked her the one question he wasn’t expecting, she wanted him to stay with her for the night. As her butler, he wasn’t supposed to do something like that, much less be this close to her. It was against their code, but he was off the clock right now and helping her as a friend… right?

“I’ll do anything for you.” James responded without truly thinking it through but as she drifted off to sleep in his arms, he felt his head drop, resting against hers. Their breathings soon matched and James also drifted off to sleep. 

Sometime during the night the two ended up laying down on the couch, James’ arm wrapped around her waist holding her close and his face rested gently against her back as they spooned on the couch under the blanket. For once in his life, James had an incredible night sleep.
