He said, making sure his face was tipped to the side so he wouldn't drown on any vomit or spilled fluids before continuing. He then saw Lyn and Jossie leave, with the promise that she'd be back in five minutes. He'd make sure she wasn't being paid for this lost-time incident, especially if it took longer than just five minutes.

In the meantime, that meant he had to make sure his best friend the ex-boxer didn't drown on his own saliva while tending the crowd of thirsty and curious customers. He sighed at what was perhaps the fourth enquiry whether either of them would return, "... this is why I can't bring nice things to this bar."
