"I believe I just said what we offered to the bandits, they had refused it." A couple of spiders crawled out of his eye socket as he spoke. "I'm sure what they considered worthless, would be valuable to you-" The scarecrow gave the fox-girl a quick body look. "By the looks of it..." "Shadow!" The farmer shouted. "We can not afford to be making enemies. I apologize for his behavior. Handsomely or modestly or whatever. We will award you appropriately to the task." Ezekiel slung his firearm over his shoulder and coughed to the side. "The bandits said they would be here to destroy and kill anything at dawn." With his index finger, he directed everyone's attention to the hills. "So to speak, when the sun hits that hill, the battle starts. We have maybe an hour and a half until they arrive," Ezekiel shrugged his shoulders. He turned to the metallic man behind the fox-girl and man. "I can fill that belly of yours. I have food inside the house for you, guys." Ezekiel kicked the dirt ashamed. "I was going to dine alone as my "last dinner in my house" kind of thing. I'm glad to know I have guests with me." The farmer picked his head up and smiled. Clapping his hands, he said "Come, come. I will whip us something fast. Shadow, are you coming?" Shadow cackled. He wiped his face and pushed the spiders back into his mouth. "I think I'll take a raincheck on your cuisine." "Hmpff. Suit yourself." Ezekiel then headed to the fields.
