Wouldn't being in the same gang kind of give you at least basic knowledge of who the [i]key[/i] players are? It does make sense to know the others in the gang, but I think years would only factor in how much a certain character as dealt with other characters and how thick their relationship is. An interesting question, and I only speculate.

That would depend on if there was any NPC members of the gang, which I'd assume there was some, at least old members anyway. Probably best to let the players decide who their characters have had prior relations with.
