Hmm. Maybe. But I need more to go on. How many planets it will own, how it will work, will it have a military, does every building look like a cheesy space-walmart with elevator music playing in the background, could it really be considered a nation, and so on. Just give me a few paragraphs, and I'll decide.
It has a military and considers developing technology and trading stuff the most profiting business in the galaxy. They have massive economy for the private sector and likely enough money to eclipse smaller civilizations with ease. This and their presence at many places bought them some influence. Actual political power, though? Aside from maybe "buying" a few planets they have very little. Imagine what the No.1 in Forbes could do in our world. Now expand this to the galaxy as if that would be the Earth. More or less the same. White Corps isn't a nation. It's a megacorp with as many faces as there are civilizations they managed to make contact with. I am perfectly fine with not being spread to the entire galaxy. I even have plans for entire explorer fleets. Speaking of which, I can give you a fun RP excerpt from one of the games which featured White Corps. Context: Each faction was from another galaxy (potentially galactic powers) exploring a whole new galaxy at blind. With just a single fleet with stats determined for the "capital ship" and such. The text below was my intro post. A busy world filled with life in the age where interstellar travel became a commonplace. An age of freedom and prosperity where the distance between star systems had long ceased to become a barrier. In this world there's one enterprise which thrives the most, White Galactic Corporations. Founded roughly 200 staryears ago (~550 terrestrial years) by the mysterious humanoid Keith White the first, it began as a simple banking company which soon expanded on a rapid rate. By the time of the founder's death the company was known as the multi-star system wide White Interstellar Corporations known in at least tenth of the galaxy. His work was continued by Keith White the second, adopting his grandfather's name as a new custom. He realized that with the single most sought after goods in this advanced world are none other than technology itself. He began to spend massive funds in creating an R&D department collecting people from all corners of the galaxy. He promoted contact with new races and exchange of technologies. His actions gave a jumpstart to technological development galaxy wide while also increasing his influence greatly, the enterprise retitled as White Galactic Corporations. He died in Stardate 1988.344, leaving his descendant Keith White the third to inherit. He continued expanding White Corps, putting assets in nearly 60% of the Spiral Galaxy. This is the story of White Corps within the early years of the third millennium.
STARDATE 2015.284
Tychus Friday, captain of the Galaxy-class Hypercarrier "The Enterprise" is studying their plotted course. He's a veteran spacer with decades of experience yet even for him the current situation was completely nuts. First off, White Corps suddenly 'promotes' him out of his 'Betty', the tiny yet beautiful hypercarrier he was serving with, and appoint him to this big hulkin' spankin' new Galaxy-class hypercarrier. What were they even thinking!? That was a rhetorical question because Tychus knew exactly what those fatass Archons in the Transportation Branch had in their minds. Tychus was good, very damn good at his job. But exactly this is why he knew that their plan was nothing less than insane. Exploring a new galaxy? Nothing's wrong with dat. Hell, he'd gladly take the ol' Betty on a trip to see an entirely new sea of stars. The fact is though that in spite of centuries of development technology is still nowhere at the level to travel to different galaxies. Yet where technology is stuck nature finds a way. White Corps discovered a tiny wormhole leading to a different galaxy which astronomers identified as Messier 2027. Since the opening was so small it could barely let a single scaled down probe through, White Corps' efforts only brought them limited results. That's where this honking' huge Hypercarrier came in. Simply put, White Corps have the means to temporarily widen this wormhole. The problem is what would happen soon after. Stretching the well of space-time would have a 99.9999999999% chance of resulting in the destruction of the wormhole in 2.42 minutes. As such any decent trip through this wormhole is going to be the last. Yet instead of doing the smart thing and leaving this project alone White Corps went in the complete opposite direction. If you can make the hole bigger, let's make it HUGE. Yeah, pushing an over 3 kilometers wide ship through a pencil sized hole carrying hundreds of vessels and over a million people is such a shining idea. Tychus doesn't care if the calculations add up or not, this is completely nuts! "Detonators are set, operation begins in T minus 5 minutes." Said his incom. Yeah, not heard about it before? They're using over a hundred military-grade spatial warheads along with this colossal ship's Farcast Drive complex in order to stretch the hole. Yeah, nothing's wrong with that. If Tychus would believe in God he'd be drawing a cross in the air and begin praying. Instead he second checks his insurance papers if it includes being murdered by a fuckin' wormhole! "Beginning Countdown!" Well, no time to worryin' about dat! His only source of comfort is that if he fails, White Corps goes down along with him. Irresponsibly sending a million people to their deaths would be a scandal even a company as influential as White Corps would never recover from. Their name will be dragged across the mud down to the depths of Abyss itself! The lawsuit his family would file in would also ensure their comfort and well-being as long as they live. So yeah, everything is fine. Everything is just fuckin' fine! "Five, Four, Three, Two, One..." Oh shit! Oh shit! Oh shit!
As I said, my idea is flexible enough I can change many things yet the faction remains the same. So pay no mind to anything related to "powerlevels".
