During the Galactic Civil War, Mandalore became peaceful and disarmed, save for some of the more zealous and aggressive clans, which banded together into a terrorist group called the Deathwatch. Overall Mandalore remained mostly neutral while the Confederacy attempted to separate from the Republic (though they favored the Republic when it came down to the wire). To say that this was controversial is... An understatement.

Might make a character, but I'm overstretched as it is.
