Catarina got onto the elephant's back. She had to admit, while she has seen these creatures before, she's never gotten to ride one like this. Usually they are charging at her so that she's underneath them, not the other way around. Still, she's done her share of complaining now. With Vivian's help, Catarina got onto the back of Malkai and they rode off into the desert. Shortly after Vivian complained that at least if they had the dwarf, this ride would be less exhausting. "Certainly. At least if we had some water to drink so we can cool ourselves off." Catarina did have a waterskin, but it had only two quarts worth of water in it. It would barely last her to the night without a refill, though she remembers Malkai saying that he could always create water. But Catarina wasn't going to start relying on him, not now of all times. She was used to dealing with annoying allies and honestly, wouldn't mind if she never saw Malkai again. Vivian... Catarina wasn't certain how to feel about her. On one hand, Vivian certainly seemed nice enough. But on the other hand, Catarina couldn't bring herself to trust Vivian. Honestly, Catarina wouldn't mind Vivian as a lover and occasional ally, but even the warrior was wary around the drow. Vivian may say she's not evil, but she wouldn't have made it this far if she wasn't at least a bit treacherous. Catarina didn't know how long they've been traveling through the desert. The sun was still up and from this angle, Catarina couldn't tell if it was setting or still at high noon. She had tried not to drink any of her water, conserving what little she has for emergencies only. But even after stripping off all her armor, putting it neatly into her backpack, she was still burning. Eventually she gave in and opened up her waterskin, but before she did she turned to Vivian, offering her a first drink. She didn't know why she did this; she just did. "Ah... Thirsty?"
Parum watched the fight. Well, it wasn't really much of a fight. It was a slaughter. The warrior alone was able to wipe out half the gang in her furious charge, taking on the half-orc alone before the inquisitor disarmed him (literally) and was finished off by the warrior. The bard wasn't too bad either; though outnumbered and using a weapon better suited for dueling than back-alley fighting, he was able to subdue three thugs with a single spell. Granted, Parum could have done the same with less effort, but points for trying. Soon guards arrived to arrest the thugs that weren't killed immediately. Parum didn't leave though; she wanted to see what these people were up to. Maybe with any luck, she could get herself involved. They seemed like an interesting, adventurous sort.
