As Paisley left town, exhaustion set in. She held her arm as she struggled to keep walking. Her legs felt like noodles after running with the boy on her shoulder/back. She slowly made her way back to the forest and immediantly headed to camp, not even bothering to check to see if the fight was going on. She had to see Destin and soon.

As the nurses wheel Dem away, he passes unconscious. They quickly get him into surgery where the reset his shoulder the best they can. The cut away dying muscle and stitch his arm up, before putting it in a thick cast. He would need four more surgeries once he was in better condition, but for now that was all they could do.

Selena's muscles tensed for a second, causing the dagger to press a little deeper, threatening to cut the skin. She relaxed after a second.
"Don't try your mind games with me," she snapped at him, making sure the others didn't hear, "And I wouldn't recommend taunting the person who has your life in their hands."
She cleared her throat.
"Here's what's going to happen," she said, addressing Jayden, "I'm going to walk forward with Fabine, and you're going to let Sacha come to me. Once she's next to me, I'll let Fabine go. Then we'll both walk away and forget this happened. Any funny business and he dies."

Fabine smirks slightly. "And how do you think Sacha would react to you killing me?" His eyes gleam wickedly. "You know, she probably doesn't even know you exist. Maybe you should kill me. Then perhaps your little crush will finally see you." He glares at Jayden. "I'm the one in charge here Jayden, not her. You stop right there and do not move. Sacha dies today whether or not this pathetic excuse for a Rabin wants her to."

Jayden gazes at Selena, planting his paws firmly in front of him. Fabine was really testing his luck, but Jayden was preparing himself for the worst. He could hear Sacha behind him and flicked his tail in anticipation.

"Are you really willing to gamble your life away for someone you hate?" Selena whispered in his ear, "I know how you think. I know you think you're above us. Are you really willing to throw away your life for someone so below you?"
She dug the knife in a little deeper, opening a shallow cut.
"You know I'll do it. I've done it before. I'll cut your throat and it'll all be over. Do you really want to risk it?" She asked him.

Selena started to move forward, keeping a firm grip on Fabine the whole way. She glanced at Sacha and gave her a reassuring nod.
"Just start walking towards me," She said loudly, before dropping to a whisper, "Don't even think about trying anything. It would make me far too happy to kill you."
She stopped about 10 metres away from Jayden and Sacha, waiting for her leader to walk closer.
"If you ever threaten her again, I'll kill you in your sleep," She said icily to the Brom, the cold touch of the blade backing up the promise.

Jayden wanted to roll his eyes at all of the dramatics, waiting patiently for everyone to get to the right side of whereever. The brawler lashes his tail waits for Sacha to make her move. He just hoped Fabine wouldn't try anything so they could just get back to camp. It wouldn't surprise Jayden in the least if he did, however. He was adjusted to Fabine's erratic behavior for the most part.

Sacha nods and grabs her bow from her back and watches Jayden warily as she walks past. She glares coldly at Fabine as she nears the two. "Thanks Selena, I knew I could count on someone to come save me." She smirks at Fabine. "Nice job getting in this predicament Fabine."
Fabine scowls. "You don't scare me Rabin. You may have saved your leader today, but mark my words, she will die and there will be nothing you can do." He chuckles at sachas comment. "Yet you're the one who can't use her weapon, or beat Paisley, one of the weaker Broms. Sacha, you're pathetic."

Jayden bares his teeth at Sacha as she walks past. The brawler narrows his eyes at the three as he waits for Selena's response. He tenses his muscles in case he needs to spring to action. It wouldn't surprise him in the least.

"I'm just glad you're safe," She said to her, a smile on her face, "But next time, maybe take somebody with you when you go out to patrol."
She glanced back at the Broms.
"We should probably head back. You need to get that shoulder looked at," She said finally, also not wanting another fight to break out.

Fabine snorts as he walks past Sacha briefly. He blows her a kiss and shoots a look at Selena with a sneer. He walks over to Jayden. "You're useless." He says, wiping his arm across his neck. He rolls his eyes, seeing a smear of blood on his shirt. "Good bye Rabins. Remember to stay on my good side or I won't be so merciful next time ."
He begins walking away.
Sacha exhales, shaking her head. "All I did was go hunting. I don't need help with that Selena." She glances ar her shoulder and shrugs. "Itll be fine. It's stopped bleeding and doesn't look too deep." She sighs. "Thanks for coming to save me Selena. I owe you one."

Jayden snorts at Fabine's comment. He was the one who wanted to barge in on enemy territory! Nonetheless, he follows his leader silently. He was glad nothing serious happened. The brawler padded through the trees and just wanted to get off Rabin territory.

" he stretches and puts his dagger in his pocket. "Says more about them not coming after us. Especially since you seem to not actually want to kill any of them." He gives Jayden a long look. Paisley had made it back to camp but when she cold to find Destin, she cursed in frustration. Where was that kid when she needed him? She pressed her hand to her bleed lay and throbbing shoulder. The blood that soaked through the prices of cloth surrounding it and spread across her pale blue shirt. She sighed and headed to the healers tent to see what she could do about the wound. She defiantly wasn't a healer but she knew a few tricks. If she remembered right, Destin kept clotting powder somwhere.

The more Aya heard about Fabine the less she liked him, but Destin didn't seem too bothered by it. Besides, the way he had put his head on her knee was endearing. She pats the top of his head again. Jayden blinks at his suggestion. "If you really want to, guess. He listens quietly to Fabine's rant until he's adressed once more. He hesitates before replying. He knew Fabine and himself were just morally... opposite. Which made no sense since Jayden freely follows the Broms. Oh well.
"I find killing," he pauses and looks up at Fabine, "distasteful. It's only a last resort type of thing, to me at least." Jayden pads alongside his leader before continuing. "I know you find that to be a weakness, but I don't."

Nadia remained asleep for a good while, before jolting awake. She rubs her eyes with a short yawn, and stretches. She then unbuckles the belt and puts it back on carefully. She was a ways up the tree and didn't want to fall out.
Nadia eventually drops to the forest floor with a thud, landing on her feet. She inwardly groans as her ankles pop uncomfortably, but she can stand the pain. After a moment she heads over to the bushes where her bag was stashed. Leaning down, she retrieves a bottle of water and takes a sip to chase the morning breath out of her mouth. The forest was relatively quiet.
Marik looked around and decided to head deeper into the unclaimed part of the forest. It had been a while since he'd last been there and the lack of threats around this part of the border seemed to imply that it would do no harm to the Rabins to stray slightly from an ordinary border patrol. He walked slowly beneath the trees, his feet crunching over the fallen leaves.

After a moment Nadia buries the water bottle back into the bag, careful to zip it up. She yawns quietly and stretches her back. Sleeping in trees always made her stiff, but she didn't have a sleeping bag anymore. The damn thing got set on fire when she dropped it too close to her fire pit. No matter. She could make due.
The shifter cracks her neck and sets off to check her traps. Hopefully she snagged a rabbit; that'd sure make a nice meal. Nadia listens to the forest around her. It was oddly quiet, especially for how close she was to the groups' territory.
