[hider=23rd Perdition Armored Cavalry] [hider=CS Skeleton] Force CS Force Name: Perdition 23rd Armored Cavalry aka Ghosts of Perdition Force Type: IG Regiment History: Originally from the forge world Perdition, the 23rd Armored Cavalry were raised to fight against the Orks threatening adjacent systems, to prevent the forge world itself from coming under threat. The regiment was raised from spacers, used to low to no gravity situations, like what most of those folk used to space would be readily capable of adapting to. They also pioneered the Perdition exclusive Starstrider modifications for handling such abnormal environments, but before they could deploy, a horde of Ork roks arrived, raining down onto the forge world. The 23rd, being the only regiment formed enough to resist, held the starports long enough to evacuate as many as they could, losing much of their normal pattern Russes, making do with Conquerers that were intended for flanking Orks during the normal operations. Perdition would be lost, the forge world's massive power reactors overloaded in a spiteful last gesture to the Orks, bathing the world in fire, incinerating everything and leaving the world deserted and dead. Under ten thousand men, and their equipment, made it off the planet in time, and without anywhere to recruit more manpower, have dwindled down over numerous Ork campaigns to their current numbers. They did not fear their inability to replenish, seeing it as an advantage. They had no where to go back to, nowhere to have to worry about making proud. They could focus themselves on attacking the enemies of Man, in whatever form they took, each loss only meaning they finally went back home. Headquarters: Transport Vessel, dependent on frontline conditions Strength: 6,000 Guardsmen Strong 1,500 Lemen Russ Starstrider Varients as Follows 100 Vanquishers 800 Conquerers 300 Standard Pattern 300 Punishers Tactics: The Ghosts of Perdition are close assault specialists, utilizing an abnormal number of Conquerers compared to normal armored regiments to utilize their preferred method of getting close, fast, while maintaining a rather impressive rate of fire. Specialists form up the standard Battle Cannon Russes, as well as Punishers, picked for their brilliant effect against Orks and Tyranids, and the Vanquishers form the elite command element, following behind the Conquerers to strike vital targets on the fly. Each tanker battle group refuses to stop for anything, driving through the ranks of the enemies and not giving them a chance to slow them down, breaking through enemy lines to wreak merry havoc in the back ranks, using the constant movement of the tanks, coupled with the Conquerer's natural ability for moving and accurate firing to take the most advantage of these strategies. Mortal enemy: Orks, they cost the regiment their homeworld, and hatefully charge any sign of Ork presence, intending to obliterate them beneath the vengeful treads of Ghosts. He has a sound grasp on tactics, understanding his tanker's strengths and weaknesses, all experienced Ork fighters, and operate better the closer they are to the enemy. As such, he often seems like an angry, charging force, always moving forward, taking advantage of the abnormal amount of Conqueror Cannons on the regiments Leman Russ Starstrider varients. Bio: Colonel Cross is a native of Perdition, before it was obliterated, and had a knack for tanks early in his life. Working on the tank assembly lines, he had an innate, natural knack for the construction of tanks and assessing weak points at a glance, being selected for the Guard tithe, or he would have naturally been a forge supervisor, assessing weak points from across hot, smoky environments within the forges. His families success earned him an officer's commission, and he learned to apply his ability to assess the weak points in armor, coupled with leading like minded tankers into combat. His leadership would be put to the test when Perdition was invaded and his regiment was tasked with holding the Starport. Not trained for defensive siege work, Colonel Cross rallied his men, personally parking his tank to hold the line together, using his sharp eye for picking out weakpoints to guide his gunner, directing enfilades of fire to hold back the tides of Ork armor, claiming a heavy bounty of Ork armor alone, inspiring his men to drive back the green tide over and over again, allowing numerous shuttles to escape with vital equipment and civilian survivors. He was forcibly dragged out of the battlefield by his men, and barely ten thousand escaped with him. He personally took command of the remains of his regiment, and the sole survivors of Perdition, and would lead them against countless Orks, his Vanquisher a legendary sight amongst his men, leading countless charges, blasting open tanks from long ranges, and picking off key points in enemy positions, opening the way for his men to blast through the enemy ranks. He would remember the names of every man and tank lost, and he would not surrender until every man was dead, and he was broken and dying, unable to continue forward another inch.
