Appearance: [color=fff79a]Ms.Carter is a tall and full figured women who walks, and talks, as though she's in charge, because she is in charge. She keeps her dark natural curls down most of the time, with the only exception being when she is drawing or writing. Her dark eyes are almost as black as though night sky, but her skin is as warm as summer. She's been told that she shouldn't wear colorful lipstick by more than one passer-by, and of course this only fuels her love for bright lip-stick, anything to piss off haters. She wears other make-up too, though it tends to stay more 'natural'. She always wears heels and high fashion to her work, but at home its band T-shirts and sneakers.[/color]

Personality: [color=fff79a]Ms.Carson has two main emotional states: in school, and not in school.
In school she is a very assertive person. She keeps her classroom organized and her classes orderly. She demands respect, and students oblige. As a teacher she's either loved or hated. Her overbearing personality can make it hard for trouble makers to pass her class, but anyone who bothers to try their best is bound to love her. She never loses anything and grades fairly quickly. She remembers all her students names, whether that's for better or for worse. It's obvious though that she cares very much for all of her students.

Outside of class she is almost a whole nother person. She goes on long walks with her dogs, and hikes, and camping trips. She loves to photograph everything and when she's not out adventuring she's scrap booking writing or drawing. Her home is cozy and just as organized as her classroom, just the way she likes it. She's really a very nice person to other adults and an outgoing person. However it's still not the best idea to get on her bad side. She's forgiving up to a point but if you're just a jerk she's going to call you out then avoid you. It's a "three strikes and you're out" kind of deal. [/color]

History:
[color=fff79a]Magdalene Carter was adopted into a family with split heritage. Her mother had been born in the united states just like she had, but her other mom had just immigrated a few short years before then from The Dominican Republic. Mary Ann Rice and Joanna Carter had met on a family trip and became friends then dated for years long distance, after Joanna came to the US she stayed with Mary Ann for a few years. The pair got along as best they could in America as lesbians, they got a civil union and the rest is history.

Little Maggie never even knew having two moms was different, let alone that she was, until she was almost ten. Most kids were awful about it. They teased her about having two moms, and then when she grew tougher skin they went on to tease her about whatever other thing was convenient. Joanna used to always be calling the school, yelling at the principals to do something, her English garbling the angrier she got. They family ended up moving a lot, but the bullying was always the same.

Freshman year rolled around and Maggie didn't talk so much any more. She'd always be tired, sleeping on the bus, and in school, and then after school. At night she lay awake wondering if her own silence was worth the quiet it finally brought to her life. She didn't know it but she was spiraling deeper and deeper into a depression built by bullies from the ground up.

High school was the hardest time in her life. Feeling uncomfortable in her own skin and unloved by everyone around her she tried to commit suicide. She very nearly died that day, late into her sophomore year but in a stroke of luck Mary Ann came home early from her day job and found her baby girl in time to save her life.

Maggie was in the hospital for a long time after that, and then in metal therapy for even longer. But if one good thing came from the whole experience it was that by the end of high school she was beginning to love herself for the first time, and she knew what she wanted to do.

She picked up the pieces of her high school career and glued them all back together. She ended strong and graduated already guaranteed into the college she'd wanted to go to most. She got her teaching degree and her first job as an English teacher. After all those years she was loving her herself, and life, and living her life to the fullest.[/color]
