Ethel gave a hardly noticable nod in response to all the affirmation she was getting from everyone. It seems the girl didn't have to do much to win them over. She bowed to Maisy and Andre out of politeness, and added in a "Then it is settled," when her back was straightened again. The girl looked around the room, seeing that most arenas were already taken at that time... Though strangely enough, one duel seemed to end early. The one with that silver haired boy from Light, whom Ethel forgot their name. Well, it seemed like that arena was free at least. "Let us go." She spoke, though it nearly sounded like an order. The girl was the first to leave as per her suggestion, or well, silent suggestion. They took the proper route through the hallways connecting to one end of the arena, taking her spot and waiting for the others to arrive as well. Andre followed the girl as they went to their spots on the arena. He stood on the left most spot and held his hand forward. "Come at me then! I'll show you the power of the darkness! My archfiends will rend flesh from bone!" Andre said with a chuckle at his own haminess. He was in a good mood after finding out that his partner actually had a fairly compatible deck with his. Still he wasn't foolish enough to let it go on from there. In fact he was already regretting opening his mouth. He was already Light Dorm's freakshow, he didn't need to further that annoying title along even more. Still he wondered how well the duel would start off for him. Even the best duelists fell prey to a bad hand every once in awhile. "I'll go first for my team, but I'll let you guys go first. Seems more than fair." Andre said with a cockiness that befitted that of a guy in his position. Maisy blinked a couple of times at Andre's eagerness, and just smiled a little, scratching the side of her hat for a moment before saying: "Um...I guess I'll be going last then." before she gave Andre a thumbs-up. She didn't really know how Archfiends worked in the slightest, but was glad that Andre had confidence in her deck. Opting to focus on supporting those Archfiends as best she could, Maisy readied her duel disk and slotted her deck into it. Ignia had followed Ethel like a sheep followed the shephard, "I guess I'll let Ethel go first." Ignia declared with a slight shrug. She was ready for this duel, even though she was absouletly destroyed by Ethel on her own, perhaps working with 9/10 could elevate Ignia to new more powerful heights or she could just be riding on Ethels glorious coattails either one was fine by Ignia. She slotted her deck into her academy duel disk her face becoming slightly more serious but not quite. Ethel cast a sideway glance at her partner who suggested she went first, letting out a quiet and dissapointed sigh. She had been hoping that her partner took the initiative on her own, since her deck seemed to be focusing on needing to set up, but she wasn't going to complain about it. "I accept, then." Ethel aimed at both Andre and Ignia, raising up her Duel Disk. "Not letting me attack... Interesting." Ethel threw at Andre in particular, a small smirk starting to creep up behind the collar of her hoodie. DUEL!
"Summon Mimicry Lanius," the girl droned off to start the turn. A mechanical, bird-like cry echoed in the room as a blue-ish vortex appeared on her field. Out of it rose a golden-armored machine, modelled after a bord of some renown. It had some kind of blue plasma pulsating in their neck and their body ended in some sort of circular, purple jet instead of actual legs and claws. Raidraptor - Mimicry Lanius: 1100 ATK 1900 DEF Level 4 DARK Winged-Beast "Set three cards. Turn end." Ethel finished almost robotically, with three brown card backs materializing on her field. She looked to her right briefly to see how Ignia was doing before turning her gaze back to Andre. "Keep your arrogance in check." Turn 2: Andre Ethel & Ignia: 8000 LP, 1/5 cards in hand, 1 Monster, 3 S/T Andre & Maisy: 8000 LP, 6/5 cards in hand "Don't you talk down to me like you're some sort of boss, lady! I've eaten bigger men than you alive in duels! My draw!" Andre said as he chuckled at the card he drew. What an irony. It seems his nickname was coming into play. "Let's bring us into my world! I activate the field spell card! Pandemonium!" Andre called out as the chaotic static and orange light engulfed the field around him and Maisy. Lightning streaked around him as green claws emerged around the field around the duelists. "I then summon a monster to the field! Armageddon Knight fight for me!" Andre shouted as a man in dark drab clothes appeared in front of him holding a makeshift sword and a mask that covered his face. Armageddon Knight: 1400 ATK 1200 DEF Level 4 DARK Warrior "His effect activates! I get to send one monster free of charge from my deck to the graveyard! I choose to send Imprisoned Queen Archfiend! She will serve her purpose when my next turn comes along! But for now How about I show you what a real monster can do!? Attack her monster Armageddon Knight. Long Road Clash!" Andre declared as his knight charged forward towards Ethel's bird. Ethel was unphazed as Mimicry Lanius shattered in front of her eyes. The impact of Armageddon Knight's blade sent a small gust towards the girl and her hair started to float because of the wind. The Lifepoint counter on her disk trickled down as one of her three trap cards revealed themselves. It depicted a flaming bird of some renown soaring across a barren field, with the Raidraptors logo burned into its very soil. "Raidraptors - Return. Mimicry returns to me." Ethel droned off from behind the field, her mouth hidden behind that raised collar of hers. Ethel & Ignia LP: 8000 > 7700 "That bird should be buried. But regardless it's not much of a threat in the hand I suppose. I pass on my second main phase and end my turn your partner's turn. Let's see if she proves to have a more interesting set of cards." Andre said as he ended his turn preparing his next strategy. Then again it really wasn't that hard to chose either he could make a bigger play next turn or he could just do another simple one. Turn 3: Ignia Ethel & Ignia: 7700 LP, 2/6 cards in hand, 2 S/T Andre & Maisy: 8000 LP, 4/5 cards in hand, 1 Monster, 1 Field Spell Ignia glanced back at Ethel for a moment and then out to the field. Ignia had new cards, but they still had a monster and a field spell. She had a Xyz monster she had no clue how to use, so she had to make due with what she had. "I guess I summon my Familiar possessed Hiita." Ignia said as she placed the card on her duel disk with a grin. A whirlwind of fire began swirling out in front of her before it quickly ceased, showing a red haired woman and a very angry looking familiar. The end of red haired woman's staff burned with a bright orange flame. Familiar Possessed - Hiita: 1850 ATK 1500 DEF Level 4 FIRE Spellcaster "Of course I have a few new tricks up my sleeve now, and heres one of them! I summon my own archfiend, Nefarious Archfiend Eater of Nefariousness!" Ignia cried as she placed down another card on her duel disk, it appeared quite blandly on her board compared to her Hiita but oh well. Nefarious Archfiend Eater of Nefariousness 1500 ATK 200 DEF Level 4 EARTH Beast "Now Nefarious Archfiend Eater of Nefariousness shall Attack your Armageddon Knight!" Ignia said as she pointed at the creature she wanted her devilishly ugly marmot to attack. Andre didn't even flinch slightly as his knight was thrown back and destroyed with his sword smashed. He wanted to spit on the bastard for being taken out by a less archfiend. "I thought Archfiends were my shtick? Whatever he served his purpose and that's all he was good for in the end. Is that all?" Andre muttered as he heard the medicore click of his life points going down by one hundred. He didn't really expect his monster to last much longer but that was underwhelming for a guy of Andre's experiences. Andre & Maisy LP: 8000 > 7900 "Of course, that's not all. My friend Hiita hasn't had her attack yet," Ignia said before her eyes narrowed with what seemed like confidence "Hiita attack their lifepoints directly!" Ignia said as she pointed at the opposing duo with all her might as if it would make the attack hurt more. The mage responded to her order to attack. Hiita launched a bombardment of fireballs towards the enemy duo. Andre lifted his arm in response to the direct attack but took it without flinching. He cracked his neck boredly as he watched his life points drop even lower. "I didn't leave you with much but don't screw this up girl." Andre said with annoyance in his voice as he glared at Ignia but was referring to Maisy. Andre & Maisy LP: 7900 > 6050 "Now I am just going to set two cards and end my turn," Ignia said as she conceded with what looked like a slight curtsy, although she was probably just excited to actually be able to attack directly for once. Ethel looked over to her Teammate as she declared the end of her turn. "...Interesting," she started to muse. "You didn't Xyz before too," the blue-haired girl commented. "Do you have no Xyz monsters?" Ethel questioned Ignia, with a slight tilt of the head. She was quite confused on why her partner didn't do something so obvious. Turn 4: Maisy Ethel & Ignia: 7700 LP, 2/2 cards in hand, 2 Monsters, 4 S/T Andre & Maisy: 6050 LP, 4/6 cards in hand, 1 Field Spell Andre was still scary, was all that Maisy thought of the situation as she drew her sixth card. Mulling over her options, her eyes lit up and she proceeded to give Andre a confident thumbs-up. "This just might work!" is all she said before declaring: "I activate the continuous spell: Constellar Belt. As long as its active, nothing can negate the effects of a LIGHT monster." "Next, I'll discard my Fabled Ganashia to the Graveyard to Special Summon my Fabled Chawa."Slapping her card down, a small yellow demon with the roundest head imagineable and a big evil grin poked its head out before it was bitten by something beneath, a very unhappy looking chihuahua wearing a half-helmet emerging and throwing the little ball-dude on his back. With a proud yip, he stood before the monsters on the opposing side. And then cowered. The Fabled Chawa 200 ATK 100 DEF Level 1 LIGHT Beast Tuner "Since I sent The Fabled Ganashia to the grave by a card effect, He gets to come back with some extra attack points!" she declared as a very purple cartoony bipedal elephant emerged, squeezing on a purple ball-demon with his trunk. The Fabled Ganashia 1600->1800 ATK 1000 DEF Level 3 LIGHT Beast "Next I'm going to set one card from my hand face-down, and use my Normal Summon to bring out Fabled Urostos in Attack Mode. And, when I have two cards or less, he boosts all my Fabled cards' attack power by 400 Points." she explained, while the spookiest skeleton appeared, hiding his brow beneath a hooded coat. Fabled Urustos 1500 ATK 200 DEF Level 4 LIGHT Fiend The Fabled Chawa 200 > 600 ATK The Fabled Ganashia 1800 > 2200 ATK Fabled Urustos 1500 > 1900 ATK Maisy was literally trembling. This was the best she'd done with her deck all month, and, now she had a tuner. "With my Level 1 The Fabled Chawa and my Level 4 Urostos, I'll Synchro summo-oh wait, I had this prepared." she said before pulling out a paper index card while Urostos went into the glowing ring formed by Chawa's disintegration, the four stars colliding and bringing out a hulking demon, a farcry from what Maisy's monsters would ever suggest. The Fabled Ragin 2300 ATK 1800 DEF Level 5 LIGHT Fiend Maisy put the card away and was about to give her big epic synchro speech, only to see that it already happened since she already declared the summon. Staying depressed for all of half a second, she snapped out of the nonexistant sad situation of not getting to sound like a huge dork and said: "When Rajin is Synchro Summoned and I have less than 2 cards in my hand, I can draw until I have 2 total. So, I'll draw one card...and set it face-down." as she drew, saw, and placed it face-down in her S/T zone. "Next I'll activate the Spell-Card: De-Synchro!" the somewhat intimidating golden and red demon's form cracked apart as he split back into a spooky skeleton and an angry chihuahua once again. "And now that they're split apart, I can synchro summon again, but this time with my Fabled Ganashia and Chawa." Maisy said as Chawa broke apart into a floating ring for Ganashia to stampede through. This time, she was ready to be a dork. "Oh being of legend, thine form of man and beast conjoined, run wild through the field and let your short life burn bright. Synchro Summon! Come on out, The Fabled Kudabbi!" Maisy chanted excitedly, actually breathing pretty heavily as the out of the rings where there was once an elephant stood a massive oxen with a veil over its strangely shaped face, the veil conceiling its head while it was clear that the eyes looking over it were not beastial. They were almost human. On its back rode a proud white-skinned ball-headed demon who seemed to ride it like a rodeo bull before it began its rampage, proud, confident, one hand raised in the direction of the opponent. The Fabled Kudabbi 2200 ATK 1100 DEF Level 4 LIGHT Beast "Since I still have less than two cards in my hand, Urostos will still boost Kudabbi's attack points by 400, bringing him up to a total of 2600 Attack points. I'll also set the last card in my hand face-down." She declared, as Kudabbi planted its front left hoof on the ground, scraping the ground with it. The Fabled Kudabbi 2200 > 2600 ATK Fabled Urustos 1500 > 1900 ATK "Battle Phase here I come! " Maisy said, before pointing at Familiar Possessed Hiita. "Kudabbi! Go ahead and attack Hiita." she declared as Kudabbi ran forth, anger in its eyes as it...stopped in front of Hiita and its veil flipped up, revealing an horrendously ugly human face. "Hi." Hiita stared at this ugly human face and literally exploded from the sheer beauty it presented. Hiita exploded into shrapnel made of light as Ignia placed her card into her graveyard. Ethel & Ignia LP: 7700 > 6950 Once that was done with, Maisy pointed at the only enemy monster left, Nefarious Archfiend Eater of Nefariousness, and said: "Go Urustos! Wipe out their last monster with a really long name!" as Urustos glided over, bony hands reaching out to smack that hamster out of the sky. Ignia had assumed a more intelligent pose, it seemed like she had actually HAD something up her sleeve the entire time and was waiting for the last possible moment. "Before my marmot gets to far out of sight I activate my trap card. Unpossessed!" Ignia said as a facedown card was flipped face up show a image of a myriad of beasts. 6 streams of light emerged from it, creating a veil of shifting colours. Ethel & Ignia LP: 6950 > 6550 "Its effect allows me to Special Summon a Spellcaster-type monster from my deck face up or face down with a different attribute." Ignia said as she pulled a card from her deck with a grin. "Of course I choose Lyna the Light Charmer to summon in face down Defense position." Ignia said as a cute young white haired girl burst forth from the veil, stumbled once and faceplanted the floor. Her card then promptly slammed down on her. Maisy gulped, really not liking that she hadn't wiped their field clean. "I guess I'll end my turn here then. Over to you." Turn 5: Ethel Ethel & Ignia: 6550 LP, 3/2 cards in hand, 1 Set Monster, 4 S/T Andre & Maisy: 6050 LP, 4/0 cards in hand, 2 Monsters, 3 S/T, 1 Field Spell "Draw." Ethel picked up where Maisy left off. She had to think of a way to get rid of that Synchro monster. "I'm impressed. Synchro is not easy." she commented, aiming it at Maisy. "Again, Mimicry Lanius." Ethel started off her turn, the same bird as before manifesting itself. They let out a fierce, rage-induced cry at having been destroyed earlier. Raidraptor - Mimicry Lanius: 1100 ATK 1900 DEF Level 4 DARK Winged-Beast "Swallow's Nest Activate." Ethel continued to drone, the green border rising up from the floor. "I Tribute Mimicry Lanius to Summon Vanishing Lanius." the girl continued to explain in monotone, the entire thing being a chore to listen to. Mimicry sunk into the floor, being consumed by a metallic canyon of sorts. Moments after, a green armored bird took its place with a menacing cry. "I banish Mimicry Lanius to add Sharp Lanius to my hand." Ethel explained, one of the cards jutting out of her deck to make her life a little easier. Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius: 1300 ATK 1600 DEF Level 4 DARK Winged-Beast Ethel had to think. She could summon Sharp Lanius and overlay into a rank 4, but that wouldn't help. That Fabled would still have too much ATK... And on her field, she could activate a trap, but... "...My field?" she suddenly thought to herself, eyes widening. That's right! Ignia had summoned a monster just before... Lyna the Light Charmer! If this card's name was any indication, then...! "I'll summon Ignia's monster!" Ethel frantically shouted out. The card back got tossed aside, revealing a small white haired child rubbing her head. Happy Lover was flying next to her, trying desperatily to comfort them by rubbing up against her cheek affectionately. The girl giggled, then took notice of the oxen. Suddenly her good mood was gone, staring in fear at the beast. Then Lyna screamed, much to Kudabbi's surprise. It felt a little bad, and walked over to try and comfort the little girl... Which went about as well as you'd expect. The two were running around the field, Lyna being deatly afraid and Kudabbi chasing after her. The centaur was now on their side, ending Urustos' effect. Lyna the Light charmer: ATK 500 DEF 1500 Level 3 LIGHT Spellcaster The Fabled Kudabbi 2600 > 2200 ATK "H-Hey, that's mine!" Maisy said, not liking that her ugly bull man just got stolen away. "What's yours is mine and whats mine is mine, and whats yours and not mine will soon be mine," Ignia thought to herself as she watched Kudabbi chase her monster. "Ignia, you...?" Ethel mumbled in amazement, being awestruck at her partner's foresight. It was time to make a play. "Vanishing Lanius' effect! I Special Summon Sharp Lanius!" the blue-haired teenager declared, slamming down her Sharp Lanius. A menacing, robotic cry rang out from afar as a red bird swooped down and picked Lyna right off the floor. The poor girl was crying after all that. In an act of kindness, Sharp Lanius dropped her off in one of the seats to the back, right in the audience so she could watch instead of fight. "Sharp Lanius changes a monster to defense." Ethel explained, now visibly smirking towards both opponents. Raidraptor - Sharp Lanius: 1700 ATK 1000 DEF Level 4 DARK Winged-Beast "Trap card, Icarus Attack." Ethel continued, since she still wasn't done. "Tribute Vanishing Lanius. Obliterate those Set cards!" Ethel commanded. The green bird cried out towards the heavens whilst turning into a ray of light. It flew up high, so high it could dive right down onto Maisy's set cards the next moment. Vanishing Lanius destroyed them in one fell swoop. "Battle." Ethel continued, with a glint of menace clouding over her eyes. She raised up her free hand, pointing at Urustos. "Kudabbi, kill your former companion!" She commanded, meeting a much more serious response from the fabled now. The little demon staggered its horse before charging forward, trampling over Urustos. Andre & Maisy LP: 6050 > 5750 A giggle escaped Ethel as Kudabbi returned to her side of the field. "It's not over~!" She reminded both Andre and Maisy with a slight singing tone to her voice. Her finger was still pointing out on the field. This time, however, she was pointing at the opposition. "Sharp Lanius, hurt them!" Ethel ordered her bird as it cried out once more. Sharp Lanius rushed forward in the blink of an eye, slicing through both Andre and Maisy before returning to Ethel. Andre & Maisy LP: 5750 > 4050 "I'm not done!" Ethel yelled over to the other side, her eyes wide open with glee. "Main Phase 2, Sharp Lanius' effect! Vanishing Lanius, come back!" Was what the girl frantically rambled off, the same bird as before rising up next to Sharp Lanius. "I construct the Overlay Network using The Level 4 Kudabbi and Vanishing Lanius!" The girl kept rambling off, now with a space-like vortex opening up in front of her. Kudabbi and Vanishing Lanius turned into yellow and purple beams of light respectively before jumping into the middle, creating a bright white flash. "O beast who guards their lair, Obliterate all that pass! XYZ SUMMON!" Ethel chanted with a shout at the end, the summoning chant sounding a lot more brutal and ominous compared to before. Out of the vortex rose a crystalline wolf, with beautiful blue making up its body and those signature pillars jutting out of its back. "Rank 4, come forth Diamond Dire Wolf!" Ethel finished whilst drawing large breaths. From where she had been dropped off Lyna was clapping at the sheer beauty of the wolfs crystalline skin. Diamond Dire Wolf: 2000 ATK 1200 DEF Rank 4 EARTH Beast Maisy pouted. Not only did her monster get jacked, it was now a little ball of light floating around a big dumb blue wolf. "This suuuuucks..." she said. "I detach one of Wolf's overlay units! Diamond Howling!" Ethel commanded, one of the brown orbs rotating around Wolf getting crushed between its jaws. It let out a mighty roar, causing both Sharp Lanius and Andre's Pandemonium to decay. Lanius cried out in pain as it fell down weakly and died, shattering. Andre's Field Spell on the other hand started breaking down bit by bit, with rubble falling all over the place. "Turn... End!" Ethel choked out, visibly wincing in pain. The arm upholding her Duel Disk was trembling violently, and she had to lower it down for a bit. "D-Damn it...!" she cried out, feeling an incredible sting coming from her left arm. The pain was so intense it forced Ethel down to her knees, supporting her arm by letting it rest on the floor. All those eccentric movements she performed caused her muscles to act up, having overexerted themselves. Ignia had been smiling throughout most of if not all of Ethel's play, but seeing her friend kneeling sparked a massive concern inside Ignia's head. She needed to get to the bottom of this later, if not now. "Ethel are you okay?" Ignia asked with geniune concern. Ethel flinched when she heard Ignia ask her if she was okay. Was... Was that girl showing concern to her? "I-I'm alright," she weakly replied. The blue-haired girl forced herself up straight, putting on a brave face not to make her worry. "Just focus on the duel." Ethel told Ignia, turning her head to give them a reassuring smile. Turn 6: Andre Ethel & Ignia: 6550 LP, 1/2 cards in hand, 2 Monsters, 3 S/T Andre & Maisy: 4050 LP, 5/0 cards in hand, 1 S/T "Damn it! I'm not sure if you're lucky or good. Probably the former. Whatever I'll see what I have up my sleeve. I'm not sure if I can win this duel with my hand tied behind my back like this, but I learned the hard way giving up is not the right thing to do. Draw!" Andre growled as he drew his card and looked at it. Not what he wanted but it was at least going to buy him a turn. At best the dumb girl has a back up plan so he could actually get his train moving despite the loss of his field card. He needed just one monster! "I summon a monster to the field from my hand! My second armageddon knight! And I'll mill my plague spreader zombie with it!" Andre proclaimed as he once again repeated his opening move with a slightly different target, but this time it was under much more dire circumstances. Armageddon Knight: 1400 ATK 1200 DEF Level 4 DARK Warrior He looked through his deck once again before pulling out the zombie, reshuffling the deck and putting the monster into the graveyard. Andre then surveyed the field. He was annoyed very much by the fact he couldn't get rid of that damn thing or it's little companion piece. "The fact that you destroyed my field spell really pisses me off, so congrats on doing that. Trust me when I say this though: I was going to go easy on you two but if I get the chance now I'll take whatever I can bring out too beat you two. Still even if I lose here I have no right to complain. Being lucky or being good it doesn't matter; all that matters is the final product, and that's usually a win for the player willing to do what it takes to earn it. So I'll end my turn and I'll see if I can actually last until my next turn." Andre muttered in disgust at both his current situation and his lack of ability to actually do what he needed to do. Still he had the pieces set. He milled one useless card into his graveyard and he brought another useful one into play possibly. He was missing his field card but he had more. It was only a matter of time until he at least tried to get a comeback going. Still it would need to be a good one. Still he knew he was good more than he could say for the girl who banked all on her field and went home wetter than a dog in a car wash. "I think you are forgetting something." Ignia said, her voice all sing-song like. It was hiding some malice in it. It had finally clicked for Ignia that she could actually win, all the pieces had fallen into place, she didn't even need to draw. The field was perfect, Unpossessed still ran rampant. It was the gateway to victory she needed. "I activate the effect of my Neferious Archfiend Eater of Neferiousness. During the End-Phase of my Opponent's turn I can special summon it back to the field at the cost of destroying one monster I control. I choose my Lyna." Ignia declared as Lyna walked back down to the field only to have the Marmot land on her head, causing her to explode in a fragmentation of light. Nefarious Archfiend Eater of Nefariousness 1500 ATK 200 DEF Level 4 EARTH Beast "I am not done though," Ignia declared, switching back to her intelligent face. "Unpossessed's effect activates, allowing me to summon one Charmer or Familiar Possessed monster from my deck. The monster I choose is Dharc, the Dark Charmer. After all, more friends are always welcome." She said with a smirk. Her monster flew through the veil like a ninja, grabbing his card along the way and hiding beneath it. Turn 7: Ignia Ethel & Ignia: 6550 LP, 1/3 cards in hand, 2 Monsters, 3 S/T Andre & Maisy: 4050 LP, 4/0 cards in hand, 1 Monster 1 S/T Ignia drew her next card, not that it mattered she had everything she wanted anyway. "Right, I flip up Dharc the Dark Charmer and target Armageddon Knight!" Ignia said as her monster appeared. It looked like a young bishie and it simply walked over to the Armageddon Knight. They both talked for what seemed like ages. The boy making some sort of case about politics and how fighting was wrong and how the knight could fight for a better cause and help the boy. Of course the knight agreed. They both then merrily walked back over to Ignia's side. Dharc the Dark charmer: ATK 500 DEF 1500 Level 3 DARK Spellcaster Andre was more than infuriated about how they would just steal his monster and more over he hated that he was so powerless to do just about anything. Still he kept himself muted he had talked enough trash and he had nothing more too add too the situation. "Now then, due to the fact I control Dharc and a Dark monster, he can finally master his art and grow up. I activate the effect of Familiar Possessed Dharc in my deck!" Ignia said as her deck began to glow. "If I control one Dark monster and one Dharc the Dark charmer, I can send both monsters to the graveyard to special summon my Familiar Possessed Dharc from my deck!" Ignia said as she moved Dharc and Armageddon knight to their respective graveyards. When she did this, Dharc was enveloped in a purplish light. His Meda Bat grew in size until it resembled something more. Something... demonic. Though Dharc looked mostly the same, albeit a bit older. "The effect of Dharc allows me to search my Deck for a level 4 or a level 3 LIGHT Spellcaster monster. I choose my Familiar Possessed - Lyna." She was noticably smiling now. Ignia was starting to enjoy herself as her deck was fulfilling its win condition. Familiar Possessed - Dharc: ATK 1850 DEF 1500 Level 4 DARK Spellcaster Ignia placed Lyna on her Duel Disk. The white haired girl from earlier returned with Happy Lover, who was massive now and had a lot more wings. Lyna looked like she had become more pure than corrupt, unlike the rest of the Familiar possessed Charmers. Familiar Possessed - Lyna: ATK 1850 DEF 1500 Level 4 LIGHT Spellcaster Ethel calmly watched as Ignia used her cards effecively, one after the other. Then a thought occured to her; What if she helped Ignia out? "...Ignia." Ethel coldly adressed her partner, trying to get their attention. "Be prepared," was all Ethel said to the other girl. Then, she extended her right arm. "Diamond Howling!" she commanded her wolf, with their last overlay unit splashing open. The rippling of its cry could be visibly seen as a clear, extending circle, slicing through Nefarious Archfiend Eater of Nefariousness and Constellar Belt. "Thanks, Ethel, This helps a ton," Ignia said as she raised her hand towards the air. "I activate the effect of my Unpossessed, it allows me to Special Summon-! Well, you already know, so... I special summon Familiar-Possessed Eria!" A blue haired girl quickly dropped onto the battle field from the rainbow vortex. She was greeted by Lyna and Dharc, yet she wouldn't be here for the battle. Instead, she served a much grander purpose. "I activate my second trap card, Spiritual water art - Aoi!" Ignia said as the card turned face-up. Eria was present on the card. This was it. This was Ignia's win condition. She could finally win. "Spiritual Water Art - Aoi's effect allows me to view your hand and discard any card, in exchange for Eria. Now, if you may reveal?" Andre walked over and resisted the urge to spit right in Ignia's face as she showed her his hand. It consisted of Skull Archfiend of Lightning, Battlefader, Creeping Darkness, and the spell card Falling down. Andre had a plan and it had fallen into nothing magnificiantly. He had no more tricks. He had no more plans. This girl would either get rid of his archfiend and he would have no monsters, or throw his battle fader in the grave and he'd lose next turn. "Pick a card and just get it over with." Andre glowered with disgust at himself for failing, for allowing himself to talk big and get ran over, and much more over....how much he hated relying on anyone who's name didn't end with the last name Carson. His older brother and him had done so much tag duelling in the past. And now....now he had nothing to show for it. Next duel he'd have no one to rely on, no one to hold him back, and no tag team mechanic for people to save themselves from his monsters. As he stood there cards in hand showing off his monsters he considered how much of a laughing stock he'd be back at light dorm for showing off and talking big then get trashed under ten turns. It made his skin crawl just thinking about it. Two armageddon knights were the best he could do!? That was the quality of a real duelist alright...a real failure. Looking over the cards, Ignia decided that instead of being cruel and mercilessly crippling the enemy team, she would just win it now. "The Card I choose is Battle Fader," Ignia declared, pointing at the card Andre was showing to her. Andre put the card into the graveyard without saying a word and walked back to his field while paying Ignia no mind. Eria exploded into fragments when the effect was completed. She had served her purpose and now Ignia, armed with her two favorite cards and with a friendly Diamond Dire Wolf, would hopefully seize the day. "Battle Phase!" Ignia shouted, really intending to enjoy her first victory here at the duel tower. She was going to make it sweet and awesome at the same time. "Lyna, attack their lifepoints directly! Starlight buster!" Ignia said to her monster, which responded with a nod before leaping up into the air. Lyna, looking beautiful as ever, launched a large volley of explosive white orbs towards Andre and Maisy. Andre & Maisy LP: 4050 -> 2200 "Of course I can't leave Dharc out of the mix. Dharc, Dark Night Flare!" Ignia said as she raised her hand to the air. Lyna landed and soon Dharc himself was up in the air. The black-haired boy laughed a little as he launched mutiple explosive magic missiles of darkness. Andre & Maisy LP: 2200 -> 350 The dust settled after a little bit, but neither member of the opposing team had any time to rest. There was still one more attack that needed to be declared. Ethel's forehead had a few drips of sweat clinging to it and she was breathign heavily with one eye closed. The girl seemed to be getting exhausted. "The end." Ethel told their opposition, painfully raising the left arm on which her Duel Disk was attatched. "Diamond Dire Wolf! Hurt them! Dire Claw!" Was what the girl cried out, right before the crystalline beast broke out into a sprint. The wolf let out a roar of victory right before it pounced on both Andre and Maisy. The animal shredded them apart with a single x-shaped swipe, wide enough to hit both duelists at the same time. Andre & Maisy LP: 350 > 0
WINNERS: ETHEL & IGNIA!

Ethel's breaths became a little more regulated as the excitement died down. The field dissapated into tiny yellow orbs that flickered out around both teams, with a holographic image of Ethel and Ignia signalling their win in the middle of it. The blue haired girl felt relieved when seeing that, but had to drop down onto her knees again in pain. Her wrist was stinging like mad. She deactivated the disk and quickly pressed the button that released the safety strap, causing the disk to fall onto the floor with a loud *clang!*. Ethel looked up, trying to scan Andre and Maisy's faces, trying to see how they reacted to that defeat. "Gya!" Ethel yelped as she felt the sting again, eyes slamming shut and teeth firmly grit. The girl was cursing to herself, having overexerted herself. She opened her eyes again, trying to look at Andre and Maisy again. "Thank you... for the duel." she politely thanked the opposite team, though it's anyone's guess if that was genuine or not. Maisy sighed deeply as she slunk down to her knees, hat tilted slightly off the top of her head. She did her best, but her opponent just went and used that against her in an instant...Looked like she really needed to improve her deck. Like, a lot. Like...maybe something that lets her last more than half a dozen turns in a duel. That'd be nice. Slowly removing her hat, Maisy scratched the crown of her head before noticing that Ethel looked...kinda...like she ran a marathon from playing for only 7 turns. Rising to her feet and putting her hat back on, Maisy managed to gather a smile on her face and asked: "Um...Ethel? Are you alright?" as she offered her a hand. Ethel responded by slapping the hand away from her, then responding with a growl in her voice. "I'm fine," the girl said. "I'm fine!" Ethel was visibly annoyed now. They forced themeselves to their feet, wincing in pain all the while. It was clearly not fine, but Ethel didn't seem like she'd budge on the subject. "I'm... going," she managed to stammer out with a slight pause. But right as she said that, out of the corner of her eye, she could see someone else do something peculiar. Andre clutched his hands together and tightened them up then, looked at his deck and grunted, "I didn't lose this duel. You didn't either but next time...next time we will rise...stronger....better...fiercer...I won't be denied my dream. I promise you archfiends this: I won't be weak. Not anymore." Andre unclutched his hands and breathed out deeply releasing his rising tense feelings dwelling in his chest. Andre looked at Maisy and that other girl...what was her name? Ethel? Bah, she won the duel. She could do what she needed to do on her own. If she needed a nurse then Maisy and her tag team partner could drag her to the infirmary on their own. He had to go listen to Ben probably drag on about how handily he won his duel...but first, the teacher would probably rag on him about losing this duel. His overconfidence going in, and his inability to muster an actual defense. His lack luster and slow strategy. He'd take all the inane talk all the same but he knew what he had done wrong. Andre turned his back on the others and walked back towards the audience seats. Maisy's hand after being slapped flipped up and rested against her own forehead, as if she were saluting. "Well, if you say so then. Make sure you take your vitamins. It sounds like you need them." she said, out of a little genuine concern. Turning to try and talk to Andre, she found him already gone and sighed. "...Well...this all could have gone better." she said dejectedly, simply waiting for Transformer to probably lecture her about how she should have not used everything she had on the first turn. Or something like that. Or just get bent. Or something like that.
