Miyako Awaken from Slumber - 3rd Ward
The harsh bang of fresh garbage being tossed into a metal dumpster along with the rotten smell of yesterday's catch stirred a slumbering monster from her accidental snooze. Ideally in a stakeout, the person who was spying would never fall asleep lest something important happened at the location that they were staking out. For example, letting that Rinkaku Ghoul slip away undetected or even worse, being discovered after that certain side of you willing exposed your identity. But it was no use now, as what was done was done. Groggily, Miyako rubbed her eyes in an attempt to wake up and focus, even rising to her feet and shake herself from head to toe to stave off the exhaustion from last night. Last night... That had hardly gone the way Miyako, the real Miyako, had hoped. As it turns out, killing a bunch of lower ranking, uninformed ghouls to lure a higher ranking, informed ghoul was not the best strategy when you have an internal struggle for control with an inner demon. Despite not being in control, she could remember the entire night. The fight, the CCG showing up, the Rinkaku's flight, and the very long night Miyako had to track that ghoul. Rinkaku's dripping wounds was eventually the trail that she picked up. Unfortunately, she didn't manage to find her stakeout spot, an alleyway just down the street from the Clinic, until after the sun began peeking above the horizon. It wasn't her first experience this late, in fact, she was rather conditioned to it, but despite her supernatural powers she is still mortal. While recalling last night as if it were all a drunken stupor, Miyako stumbled out of her hiding place and made her way to the "mouth" of the alleyway and leaned weakly against a building while she kept her eyes glued to the front door of that Clinic. It was at this time the question of "Was this all really worth it?" flashed through Miyako's head, but the question was quickly dispelled. In truth, she did not know if this was worth it but she was on a detective case and this was a lead. Her only lead at this point. Up to this point, Miyako had been having a tough time cracking into the Tokyo Underground as she was a fairly new to this changed Tokyo. Of course, she wasn't deterred by it. She knew what had to be done and her experience from Italy was paramount to her work now. But first thing first, Rinkaku had to be found. Last night, Rinkaku made the mistake of answering Miyako's summons and as a result, she thought he would know something. However, Rinkaku may not even be that important anymore as there was clearly some significance to this Clinic. Miyako could have followed Rinkaku's scent trail inside with all the blood he lost last night, but she didn't dare. Her back still ached from being thrashed and she was exhausted at that point. Regardless, this Clinic appeared to be pretty ordinary so it made it all the more stranger that a very strong ghoul would wander in seeking assistance. His wounds must have been clearly identified as caused by a Kagune, so why risk exposure for this particular clinic? Clearly something was inside, but as to what, Miyako did not know. A trip inside could provide Miyako useful information but it had a hitch. Rinkaku was likely to identify and compromise Miyako if he was still inside which meant it was all the more important she know if he has left or not. Thus, the stakeout continues.
