Shiro Kawabata

The student always enjoyed his morning walks with his boss. The casual small talk and bite-sized bits of humor made the struggle of getting out of bed worth it. But while the sun began its ascent into the sky, Shiro’s morale sunk inversely. He received a message from Sky Knight yesterday evening. Unfortunately, the little good samaritan in his head decided to accept his plea. The kid signed the message with his actual name, so it must have been urgent. Shiro would have been more apt to assist if the he hadn't been so roundabout with his wording, but if his help was needed, he couldn’t turn down a young soul. He spotted the usual river of students flowing through the school’s gate as he rounded the corner. But there was something peculiar about the scene. No, it wasn’t the hime-sama being followed by an array of underclassmen she inducted as servants. Nor was it the student with a hairstyle with a summit that could challenge Mt. Everest. It was the stand which had set up shop right next to the gate. He took every step with the utmost caution. As he got closer, he finally realized what the stand’s purpose was. Above it was a banner, titled in bold font THE WHATEVER THAT SKULL GUY’S NAME IS FAN CLUB CLUB Below the header was an edited screenshot of Nyx brutalizing an Outlaw. ”Face, meet palms. Palms, meet face.” He thought as he hid facepalmed with both hands. "He actually went ahead with iiiiiiiit” The muffled voice cried ridden with denial Now, at a hurried pace, he made his way over to the crime scene. His eye instantly lurched in the direction of the merchandise set out on the table. Wristbands, club pendants, buttons, and a slew of other little accessories. Shiro then looked up at the creator of these little addons, who in turn was also staring back at him with glistening eyes. ”Morning, Ken.” He managed to croak out. Funny thing is, Ken and Shiro were actually in the same class. They had exchanged words a few times during clean up duty, but that was the extent of their social interactions. It was as if a deity was standing right before his classmate. ”Moo- I mean, Shiro!!!” For a second, Shiro thought Ken was going to leap over the counter and hug him. But thankfully he was spared from the experience, although a hug from anybody wouldn’t hurt right now. Anything to boost his spirits. Honestly, he was surprised that his classmate had actually followed through with the whole idea. He pressed his hands against the bridge of his nose and mulled deeply for a moment. Now isn’t the time for glum thoughts, no, it it’s the time for wishful thinking! This kid is a visionary. Scratch that, a revolutionary! He just needs a little push. Shiro’s iconic smile stretched across his complexion as he nodded, ”Alright, you know what? I’m game! You’ve got a vision, I can see it! And if this club was genuinely approved, that means other people have seen it too. So, how many of these have you handed out?” The club president instantly lost his stature and dropped to the floor behind his stand. ”...none.” He wailed in defeat. ”No wonder he’s failed to get the club’s name out there. If this academy was suddenly turned into a MMORPG, he would have surely been the tutorial NPC…” Shiro raked the back of his head as he began to take in his assets. After he finalized an approach, he picked up a few pieces of merchandise and strode towards the crowd. ”Ladies and gents, if I could have your attention please!” He called out towards the flow of human traffic. He instantly got a few heads to swivel in his direction. A good sign. Capitalizing on the attention he had generated, Shiro began to showcase the wristbands and headbands. ”...and for you ladies! Imagine coming out of the shower with this piece of fine craftsmanship tied around your body! This’ll definitely rile up your other half!” The boy took a rolled up towel from under his arm, took it by an end and let gravity do its part. In the its center was a close up picture of Nyx, probably taken by the Stryker he decked during the battle. Even newbies are lethal, so it seems. Shiro returned to the stand just a few minutes before their first class. Ken’s mouth was agape in utter awe. A handful of students had pledged their loyalty to the club, and a good amount of the merch was handed out. ”I’d say this was a job well done. How about you?” Still speechless, his classmate could only nod in response. ”Well, anyways, I’ll head to class. Don’t worry, I’ll just say your stomach was about to explode and you needed to go to the nurse really bad. Catch you later, man.” Shiro gave his newfound friend a wave and began to walk off to class at a leisurely pace when his classmate called out to him, ”Oh yeah, right! Strawberry’s pretty ticked that you never showed up, and she said she’s gunning for you now IRL! Keep an eye out!” Shiro waved his hand as he continued on, ...and thanks a lot!”
As classes came to a close, Ken and Shiro chatted a bit before going their separate ways. The former already acquired a club room, advisor, and thanks to his new friend, a substantial amount of club members. The only thing on the latter’s mind right now was how disconcerted Nyx was going to be when he discovered the club’s existence. Since the guy seemed to have a temper, he could only imagine what the player’s IRL counterpart would do. Shiro fumbled around with his eye patch’s strings while he walked through the hallway. Students passed him by heading wherever. He exchanged passing greetings with those he had acquainted, which were a considerable amount, as expected of a social butterfly. There was no destination in his mind as of yet. For now, he was merely aimlessly waltzing wherever. His subconscious ended up leading him to the rooftop. He frequented the locus due to the soothing atmosphere it was known for. Luckily he had the area to himself for the time being. The familiar ping notifying him that he had received a message went off. Shiro opened up his messages and rested against the rooftop’s fencing. The boy’s initial response was to raise an eyebrow at the contrastingly unfamiliar name. Upon opening it, he only grew more perplexed. Shiro deduced that this Phantom Regality character was affiliated with Arms in some way. Don’t know if you’re a dude or dudette, so I’ll be sticking to androgynous terminology. Anyways, in answer to your question, how about we enjoy the fresh air and our first day back to school after that whole caboodle? I don’t think I’ll be logging into DGO today, but if you guys want to reveal our 3D forms to each other, that’s totally cool! I’ll try to gather a few contacts, I’m sure they’ll have similar interests. Lemme check if any death flags pop up in the next couple of hours, and if I’m in the clear, I’ll hop on and lend a helping hand.”
After sending his response, he got up from the spot and began to make his way for the stairwell.
